When Barbara Walters interviewed Whitney Houston in 1993, you could tell how immensely they respected and celebrated each other. Whitney impressed the sharp Barbara who was exceptional in her field. She cross-examined people, got to the hard stuff in such a witty, thought provoking and professional way. Whitney passed the test with her. After the interview, Barbara took a picture with Whitney. She looked so proud of her. Whitney looked like the interview was a lot for her but she was proud of herself. Out of respect for her, Barbara didn’t interview her again once she knew she had an addiction. It was beautiful to see her defend Whitney and Bobbi Kristina on The View.

@Tameeka Valencia ...but whitney wanted to do just one big interview following the drama of the previous years and chose oprah. At the start of the interview she took whitney to the side to basically run past any topic she didn't want to be asked. It's obvious Whitney felt comfortable talking to Oprah and wasn't defensive like she was in the Diane sawyer interview. Personally I would say that is the most open and transparent interview she had ever done.

I understand why we never see or hear anything from Michael Houston! He may not agree with what Pat & Gary have done....& is still doing! He continues to suffer in grief & guilt about losing his baby sister, whom he was very close to and loved dearly! He worked for Whitney's company too, and Pat probably has to send him royalty support payments every month, or however that goes.....and he will get his social security too once he turns 65......cause he was on the payroll of Nippy, Inc. for a very long time....just as Gary was singing background! Now I aint saying the man aint still grieving for his sister or feels guilty but when he was interviewed during the whitney documentary, he was all smiles talking about how they used to get high together and how bobby was lightweight around them. Drug use put a stain on his sister's legacy, contributed to the end of her marriage and close friendships, depleted her finances, affected her daughter etc.....but yet her brother is all smiles, totally different from when he had cissy beside him on oprah. I guess it was still fresh.....i dunno...anyway , I agree, he probably is not speaking out on certain questionable decisions cos Pat controls his income.

A large chunk of Whitney's estate has already been sold to a company that has the right to use her image and a bunch of other things. Whtney's brothers are incapable of managing the estate which is why it has gone to a non blood relation (Pat) to manage. Gary Michael who is Whitney's nephew is very close to Cissy. So more than likely, she has no awareness and no say about the things that are going on with that estate! That is why Pat is able to have the kind of control she has, and do whatever she wants! She was living away from them so how could they monitor her wellbeing in any useful way? Pat is just evil! I didn’t like her putting Krissi on a reality show after her Mom passing. I did watch it only to support Krissi and Pat did try to make Krissi look bad on there but it didn’t work. Everyone knew and especially us real Whitney fans knew Krissi was still grieving about her Mom passing away. So, I felt Krissi didn’t have a alcohol issue. Krissi was 19 and an adult at the time, so she could drink if she wanted. And I didn’t see excessive drinking from her to have a real drinkin issue. I think Pat just wanted to control everything for the money and Whitney’s estate because she really didn’t like Whitney. Pat is real fake and Whitney saw that while she was alive. That’s why Whitney cussed her out all the time! I can’t stand fake. And is Gary really Whitney’s biological brother? I’m not sure because with the things coming out about Teresa Graves suspected of being Whitney’s biological Mother. So, no disrespect to Ms Cissy but she may not have been Whitney’s real mother and didn’t care too much about Whitney and Krissi. And Gary just sitting back not controlling his wife Pat and just letting her be evil to Whitney’s estate, just because Gary may know that he’s not Whitney’s real brother and Ms Cissy may not be Whitney’s biological mother. But Mr John is Whitney’s real father and not Gary’s biological father. I just want somebody who really cared and loved Whitney to take over her estate. There is nobody to do that. Whitney's father, John is gone. Her brother Gary is, like you described, in cahoots with his wife Pat. They don't have to work so that can just milk Whitney Houston's estate for every dime possible. Whitney's other brother Michael has virtually disappeared. I truly hope he isn't back to getting high or living in depression because he admitted that he started Whitney on drugs and that guilt could be overwhelming.
