In another interview, she said Gary’s continued drug use, attempted rehab and then relapses, put her and her children, through emotional hell. She tried to help, went to counseling andvrehab meetings with him, but eventually saw the damage it was doing to her and her chikdren and had to leave to protect them! Had she not, they may have ended up using themselves: I mean, look at Bobbi Kris, after being with and seeing her parents smoke crack and get high....she ended up going down that same, destructive path! Whitney’s chauffer said he was horrified, when he saw them injesting drugs in front of their little girl! And in the end, she died too.......Monique did all she could, was fighting a losing battle and put hetself and her children's safety first! She def cones across as the most thoughtful, intelligent one of the lot of them!

As a Whitney Fan, from the time she graced rhe cover of Seventeen magazine, I then fell in live with that “once in a lifetime VOICE”! It was heartwrenching, watching her denial, esp on the interview with Diane Sawyer, and ultimate downward spiral. I have and listen to, all of her music, saw her perform live and closely followed her, through articles in print and interviews. Over the years, it became apparent that her whole family were, “hangers-on”, caring more about the $ than their Sister, daughter! Cissy always struck me as being jealous of her daughter’s worldwide fandom and fame, while her father sued her for almost $100 million. They still seem to be trying to make money from her, by authorizing this new docudrama that will be releases in the US this summer! SMH They might claim to be Christian (even though Cissy had an affair with the church preacher), but I think their real God is the almighty $ and living the good life, supplied by Whitney’s talent and gift!

After looking at early interviews it seemed to me, Whitney was taught to sing and perform and be a certain way and looked to for money and given drugs by family members but never accepted for who she was or loved in a wholesome way. Even her church seemed to put her and her mom in the spotlight and it became a performance. To recover from that much control, drugs and enabling she needed to live in a different universe. And to be around loving healthy people and a spirituality that drew from a loving God. Imho. So many facets to this saga. I think Kevin C. Saw her heart and spoke the truth about her best, Whitney in spite of her great gifting cried out, am I enough? And wanted to please everybody.. she ran her race and is now unconditionally loved forever.

Are you getting Monique Houston confused with Pat Houston?Monique is the EX wife of Whitneys brother Gary. She hasn't been involved with the family for years. PAT Houston is Garys current wife, who was Whitney's 'Manager' and had access to the private funeral home. Bobby Browns sister sold pictures of Whitney's bathroom in 2006. I wouldn't be suprised if her own brothers and Pat sold the pictures of Whitney dead in a casket. They all needed money after Whitney was no longer around to leech off!
@brendaschuch29289 жыл бұрын
There is so much about the houston family I find really strange. As a grandmother I can not understand how Cissy Houston was not interested in having a relationship thru all these years with Monique's children. Likewise money supposedly not a problem for Cissy,did she encourage her son to pay support for them? Did she help herself? If I could I would gladly pay for my grand child's college education. Likewise, Monique wasn't allowed at the funeral,but that awful man who took the casket picture was given full access !! How many of the hundreds at the funeral that day actually had real feeling for whitney?? Mr. Brown was not allowed enough seating for his children, was only supposed to come with two of them? In some ways he has shown more dignity and class than many of the Houston's in the past three years. Now that Gary will come into millions of his own maybe he will do right by his children and ex-wife but it seems once any of them cut u off they are done with you.

For the posters who said why is Monique Houston talking now, maybe because she can. Think about in your own family, sometimes closets are locked until someone passes away? What is the difference between Monique Houston talking and Whitney Houston mom writing a book so soon after her daughter's death? Whitney's brother Michael tells Oprah that HE NOT BOBBY BROWN started Whitney on drugs. That family let Bobby Brown take that rap for years and he could barely defend himself to the public.
@Mia-jv8sx8 жыл бұрын
Monique was right and what she was saying was very pertinent, considering what happened to Bobbi Kristina Brown. They should have been listening and attempting to break the cycle. Nick should probably be brought up on charges for her death, but the family could have handled it better. Like number one - don't put a young girl freshly dealing with grief on Oprah after only one month of losing her mother. And the reality show - well we all know.
@heavenawilson51406 жыл бұрын
You are right about both...the reality show idea was too soon for her...Oprah interviewing her so soon.could have waited three months or longer...I felt like with the reality show...Where people waiting for her to breakdown with Grief. Every Episode. They did get paid to do it. But.I think that should have been her bonding time with her dad. He wanted to spend time with her..Both Father and Daughter were in Mourning and Grieving. She had Her Half Siblings.to connect with too. The reality show would have not have existed without her being apart of it..all it did was bring Her and Nick Closer Together...

The problem with this Houston family is their hypocrisy and lack of authenticity. More focused on appearances than actually being decent people. Whitney grew up surrounded by people with double lives and she grew up and lived the same way. Her mom led the choir while sleeping with the pastor. Her dad was also unfaithful. He was a civil servant but also a crook. Her parents divorced but pretended to the world that they were still together. Whitney was presented to the world as a pop princess when she was really from the hood. She was doing drugs but portraying the good girl. Her brothers who were supposedly there to protect her but were supplying her with drugs and getting high with her. Her WHOLE family claimed to love her but were really sponging off of her. They talked about God with their mouths but did not glorify Him with their lives. THIS FAMILY WAS A MESS.

I agree. Monique is one i believe in this. And there was no way the family could not have known. But at the end of the the day it still comes back to Whitney was the only one who was gonna clean herself up and chose not to. I agree with the general consensus that Pat is NOT to be trusted. Whitney didn't have the best supporting system behind her when it came to her rehab. She had to want to receive the help for and by herself, but everyone would have rather enabled her and keep the cash flowing rather than getting her proper treatment. Robyn Crawford was the only one who seemed genuine and real toward Whitney and had her best interests at heart. Those who seem to tell the truth and blow the lid off all the bullshit seems to be shoved in the background and Monique Houston seems real genuine about her experience with the Houston family.

Kudos to this wonderful human being who is intelligent enough to call drug addiction out for what it truly is. She took a stand and her former husband took a stand as well, at a great cost to his children. His current wife is now the executor of Whitney Houston's estate and Bobbi Kristina is dreaming about building a singing and acting career founded upon her mother's connections and celebrity. The family legacy is extremely sad and conscientiously objectionable.

Why does it matter if he's a Houston by birth or if he was legally given the name by Whitney's dad, John?. He is indeed Cissy Houston's son by birth and Whitney's biological brother because they have the same mother. This whole notion of half sister/brother always seems irrelevant to me, but people like to use it as way of invalidating or making that sibling less than or illegitimate in some way.

Not that it's not normal for people to sweat while on stage...especially while singing with all the lights......but I've always noticed this. @@gamergurl8013 According to the assistant, who found Whitney, she was face down in the tub and the bathroom was flooded, extending all the way into to main suite where the carpet was soaked with water. She claimed that the water wasn't running. So who turned off the water? How did Whitney manage to get in a tub full of water so hot that it caused second degree burns? Either Whitney got into the tub while the water was running, slipped, and was unconscious, therefore causing the bath tub to flood. Or someone else was in the room while she was dying before the assistant came in to find her dead body submerged in water and they were the ones to turn off the faucet. All of this information can be found in the 42 page autopsy report. But no signs of foul play, right?

Every creature on earth has flaws. Not one family was or will ever be perfect. It's just a thing called life. We do what we can to survive and stray from all negative individuals. For I know I'm not walking a straight line. Am far from being an angel. Everyone should stop passing judgment towards one another. We don't have the right to judge each others life style. What that person does behind closed doors is something that they will have to deal with once God returns.
@traumaqueen459 жыл бұрын
Tesha Rhea What an awful way to think. I don't know if you are a Christian or whether you know what is expected from Christians. By speaking up & saving someone from their addictions, it also saves their soul. (Galatians 5:19-21). I don't believe in judging others either, but it isn't judging when you reach out & help those who are addicted, homeless, poor or whatever their need is. Isn't that what Jesus would do - help the one afflicted & then teach them how to resist temptations? By ignoring loved ones & allowing them to do whatever they want, whether "behind closed doors" or in the open, it is that behavior that causes many young people to lose their lives to drugs & alcohol. Had Gary & Michael's drug abuse been addressed early on, it might have given Whitney the skills to avoid the same drugs. It would have made her a better mother so she could teach her daughter how to avoid the same temptations & not be so trusting of everyone. Even though Krissi was an adult, when Whitney died, she was naive & emotionally still like a child. She was never taught the social skills to survive on her own or how to prevent people from taking advantage of her. She was never given grief counseling, after Whitney's death, which could have been a wonderful gift. Had something been done earlier, it is possible that both Whitney & Krissi would still be alive. By taking the time to reach out, it is offering a person a hand up & give them the respect for their bodies they lost somewhere along the way. Respect is something that looks good on everyone. I don't know if you are a Christian or not or just believe it is not your job to help others. Or do you think it is easier to look the other way? The Bible doesn't say that Christians should help other Christians. We are to help all of our fellow man. If you don't read the Bible, then a good verse to start with about helping others is 1 John 3:17-18. The Bible tells us to share generously with those in need. We are not meant to live hard-hearted or self-centered lives. This is never made clearer than in Matthew 25:31-46 Just as in Matthew 6:1-2, our good deeds should be motivated by a sincere desire to help others & it should never be our goal to do good deeds for public recognition only. I will not give you ever verse in the Bible that talks about helping others, but here are just a few. I hope you read them & see if you still feel that it isn't everyone's job to help others. Isaiah 58:10-11, Acts 20:35, Galatians 5:13-14, Galatians 6:2, Romans 12:9-13, Romans 15:1, Proverbs 31:8-9, Philippians 2:1-13 Matthew 7:12 & Deuteronomy 15:11. These verses teach us about temptations & what happens if we do not fight those temptations or help others fight their temptations. Colossians 2:21-23, 1 Corinthians 10:13, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, Hebrews 10:26, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Romans 6:12-14 & James 1:13-17. If anyone who reads this find it difficult to understand the King James Bible, then I would suggest you read the Easy to read version online, to help you understand the verses. You can find it here. All you have to do is copy & paste the verses I provided & paste them where it says "Enter keyword, passage or topic." www.biblegateway.com/
