Have been to Cass on three different occasions. Never ate in the restaurant but surely did enjoy browsing through the general store. Would love to visit again. Enjoyed the video.

My Grandpa was an engineer and my Dad and uncles all worked on railroads including the roundhouse with the CNR. I love trains! What a great meal!

The wife and I learned a valuable lesson a few years back while riding the Cass Railroad in the Fall.............bring extra clothes because the weather can suddenly get cold. It was still a great ride.

We brought extra clothes with us because a lady that works with David told him that they went on the trip and it snowed. It was the same weekend we went but several years prior. We didn't need them but at least we had the clothes. We loved the ride!

I wish we had time to go on the trail too. We did it as a day trip and with the ride taking 4 1/2 hours we didn't have a lot of extra time after looking around and breakfast. Thanks for watching!

TNX for another great video. Those Shay, Climax, and Heisler locomotives were designed for power and survival on flimsy track. Not speed. A great uncle of mine worked on the old Pennsylvania Railroad. And, I am a second generation (of three (so far!)) railfan and model railroader. For my daughter's first Christmas (at two months old), I gave her a Lionel set. For my grandson's first Christmas (at three months), guess what I gave him? Yes, a Lionel set. Even into her adult years, my daughter still stops to watch a train go by. And my grandson? He gets all excited the few times he's seen a train. Those breakfasts looked so much like what my grandmother used to fix. The fried potatoes reminded me of the time I brought "store bought" potato chips into my grandparents house! My grandfather laughed at them! He grabbed a knife and started slicing a potato with near military precision. When my grandmother saw what he was doing, she poured some Mazola corn oil into an iron skillet and in a few minutes I had my first homemade potato chips! I still fix them occasionally. Except, I use an air fryer. I am nowhere as fit as my grandfather was. Into his eighties, he was still doing pull-ups, sit-yo, and push--ups. He could do the latter on one hand! Still, at 89, he was the youngest in the family to die except by rattlesnake, war, or auto/tractor accident.. My parents went to Cass a long time ago. My father loved it. My mother said it reminded of how glad she was when the railroads converted from steam to Diesel because of cinders. (Mom always said that whenever my father took us or my mother to ride behind steam.) Did you have any problems with that? This goes down as one of my favorite videos of yours. God Bless!

You always have such interesting comments and stories. I am not surprised at all that you gave your daughter and grandson a Lionel Train Set for their first Christmas. That is definitely special. The breakfast definitely reminded me of an old fashioned breakfast. If you noticed we all had our sunglasses on to help protect against cinders. We didn't have issues with it on this trip. I have had issues on the train at Dollywood before. I always have to ride that every trip to Dollywood. I think you will enjoy our next video on the actual train ride. 😀

Good looking breakfast, and really fair prices considering your choices to eat are very limited, Those pancakes did look different almost like they were undercooked, looks can be deceiving. No matter where you take David the clean plate club isn't far behind lol Can't wait for your next video. God Bless . PS loved David's whistle at the beginning of the video . Definitely a fair price for the breakfast considering the location. The color of the pancakes was definitely different but they tasted great. David doesn't meet too many plates that he can't conquer. I think you will enjoy the next video of the actual train ride and the engines. I die laughing every time I hear that clip of David's train whistle. He used to have a hat because we have a railroad festival in the town we live in. People used to wear them to the festival. Thanks for watching!

Did you do a video on the train? My wife and I have thought about taking that train. A couple weeks ago spent the weekend in Staunton rode the Virginia Scenic Railroad and stayed at Blackburn Inn. Enjoyed the trip very much.

It was a great breakfast. We knew they had a restaurant at the State Park. We decided that if we saw somewhere interesting to eat we would try it and if not we would just eat at the park. We didn't see anywhere to eat! So glad they had the restaurant at the park. Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere there.
