I feel like Shay gets more and more criticism in his videos. Can we as viewers for once appreciate the fact that he is recording his life for us so we can find some happiness in our lives? I mean common she is an innocent child, we all made tons of mistakes when we were young! We weren't perfect when we were children and we never will be perfect! Ok, so maybe Shay left that clip in the video, but that doesn't mean he left it in because he wants to piss some people off! Everyday now I have to see Shay having to apologize to his viewers, just because of a small mistake. You actually think Avia thinks that Indians are dirty? She probably was thinking of the Old West, with cowboys and Native Americans having showdowns in the hot scorching sun, with dirt and sweat covering their whole body! Why? Just why do people concentrate on the negative parts of videos?!? She's a child! Ugh, sometimes I just don't bother looking at the comment section of videos anymore because of all the negative comments...smh

I'm Native-Canadian, and in no way did I find it offensive. Some people just have to pick at the negative to make themselves feel better. Avia is 9, I'm fairly certain I did not know any "indians" other than the ones in Pocahontas and old western movies when I was her age. Edit- To be completely honest, I didn't even HEAR what she said in the vlog to begin with. I read about it down here in the comments and I went back to watch it and STILL did not find it offensive.

I am an American Indian and I laughed my butt off when I heard her comment... but why you ask? Because after 5 years of watching this family, I am smart enough to know that she wasn't raised in a racist household and her comment most likely stems from what she has seen on TV and in movies. They always portray American Indians to be one with the Earth, live in the woods and sometimes cover themselves in dirt. As a child, you will often say things that are beyond your understanding. For example: There are always jokes in the Disney movies meant for adults so they can be just as entertained as their child. This is why when you watch these movies as an adult, you are like "Why didn't I get that as a kid?!" Simply put, it is because that joke was for someone with a better understanding of the world. But just because a child doesn't get a joke doesn't mean they won't repeat it just to get some laughs... All I am trying to say is... Princesstard understands the word "dirty" as a form of messy or filthy with dirt or soot... not the broader use of the term sometimes describing a person's behavior or lifestyle, such as unkempt, poor, nasty, grubby, etc. So cut her some slack, will ya.... :)

You'll find most of the people calling it offensive are not native americans and it's their OWN minds that are the problem. For example, many say that the correct term is "native american" and calling them Indian is offensive. Well clearly you have no issue with that name and again it's people jumping to conclusions and being overly sensitive. I've heard children say far worse in this country before. When a child calls their mum a slut something is wrong. When a person associates dirty with native americans/indians/whatever then there is nothing offensive there. It is just a kid's observation based on general stereotype. Just like the whole "guys don't cry" or "women don't fart" thing

Here's a story: One time, when my uncle was little, probably younger than Princesstard, he was in a store with my grandma. A VERY large, obese woman walked by and my uncle, who had never seen anyone so big in his life, goes "WHOAAAA", right as she passed by him, humiliating my grandma (and probably the obese woman as well). Was what he said rude or offensive to that woman? Yes, but the point is that he had no idea that he had said or done anything wrong, he was just surprised. Moral of the story: sometimes kids say things that people may find offensive because they do not yet understand what is offensive and what is not. Parents are there to teach them, but they cannot control every word that comes of their child's mouth. So let's leave this nine year old girl alone please. I get what you meant, PT, don't worry! :)

here's what you seem to be missing though... Shay had a choice whether he should publish what princesstard did online for the world to see or not. He could have edited it out but chose to allow the world to hear her calling Indians dirty. Would your grandma have published that situation online for the whole world to see? Or would your grandma have been the adult in the situation and kept that private and not put a video of it up knowing it would offend and hurt some people?

Avia is by no means being racist. She is an innocent child, who probably has no idea what racism means, or barely knows what it means. I am Indian, and I do admit that my "counterparts" in India have problems with cleanliness, just because India is a developing country. She states the truth, and some times the truth hurts. But this just proves how pure and innocent these children are, being honest and stating what they see to be true.

I agree with you. BUT, I am more upset over how Shay handled it. He just said it was "racist." No further explanation, no further correction. If a child makes a mistake or says something bad, you stop them, explain to them why it is wrong and move on with life. Shay usually shows himself discipline his children on video for something like this. It's unfortunate he forgot on this one. Honestly it would not even surprise me if the Shaytards stopped vlogging soon to be honest. Just about every video he's posted over the last couple of months there has been something apparently "offensive" or "inappropriate" and thousands and thousands of people feel the need to verbally abuse him and voice their opinions about how their not teaching their children right morals or he's a bad person. Avia is 9, she is very young I'm about 99.9% sure she didn't mean it in a racist manner or even rudely. She said it spontaneously and I'm about 100% sure when I was her age I said silly and unintentional things too. Just stop, unsubscribe if you don't like his vlogs but I know for sure from many videos over 6 years that Shay and Colette are the most amazing, kind hearted and intelligent parents/people. Everyone makes mistakes, there is no need to harass them. Some may say I'm being very hypocritical about voicing my opinion but I'm just so fed up with seeing so many people abusing the Shaytards when they certainly don't deserve it. I certainly don't class PT as racist, although i do class the comment she made as racist. Its also wrong for people to hate and leave hurtful comments at princesstard as she is still a child who hasn't fully grown, and doesn't understand the consequences and the impact of what she says. However i do feel that the people do have a legitimate reason for being angry as displayed in the comments. Its not nice to be stereotyped against and under constant scrutiny.

I used to waitress and I was making $5.75/hr Tips can be low but I've gotten a $100 tip once from and elderly couple cause they understood that being a waitress can be hard work believe it or not.
