I don't know, I kind of believe her. It's not just the hair, it's eye color, neck tattoo, horns, everything is literally the same other than the way they do their hair, which even then, it's basically the same length. Now, coincidences do happen, but the fact they knew each other before the design process took place is an even bigger 'coincidence.' Obviously not enough to call it obvious plagiarism, but it's not a good look. I think you guys might struggle with critical thinking but Rev says desu is just wrong on this one. White hair/platinum blonde has been a thing that anime has been actively latching onto... If one applies European themed colors, purple would indicate royalty. Pairing the two for stories would be the expected outcome. Like peanut butter and bread - not enough to make a whole thing by itself, but a fair start... and as I understand it, both characters have lore beyond 'white and purple', lore that doesn't fully overlap.

Going with white or black as one or multiple of the primary colors to your design are just low hanging fruit if you suddenly star wanna calling out others for `stealing` your design. Now if you had very unique traits like a highly unique horn style, maybe with particular `markings` and/or jewelery/ribbons/etc. with maybe one of the horns being chipped/broken off/even simply floating like dust or something, then thats where the `claims` of ripping off can start to hold more water, especially if the aspects are VERY uncanny similar even if they are using different types of jewelry/cloth/damage/etc. but the arrangement seems to mimick rather well. If i recall correctly, there was a controversy a month or so back i believe of someone doing a sort of trace copying of Bao`s V-tuber model even having the body markings being uncannily similar despite the altercations and differences in colors on the overall model. Since its one thing to use a basic color motif especially one of two colors that often get used for `looking cool`, but its entirely another when the models are so alike the silhouette test would likely match it as true on one of them being a copy-pasta of the older one. Especially if they are not some alternate outfit of sorts or something.

White hair is so deeply engrained in the mythology of a variety of Asian cultures(Japanese and Chinese at the very least) and Asian media Zeit Geist. I have no idea how someone would think nobody else would think of the color palette, the horns with white hair resembling Oni's in Kabuki and anything related to the supernatural and think 'yeah nobody has done this before'. 🤦‍♀But it's mostly about how she handled it all of that.

I think it also depends on the content and context. King James VI and I made a book called Daemonologie in 1597 which was then later used as inspiration for Macbeth by Shakespeare. Daemon is the greek root of the english word demon. In greek it just means spirit, but in the Septuagint (the original greek translation of the Hebrew old testament) all disordered elohim (non-embodied spiritual entities) are called daemon. Since the original hebrew was lost during the middle ages they called all disordered spirits demons. Just an fyi. I don't actually think that's true any more, there was certainly a time after SAO when characters looked really similar to Kirito but Kirito's design was never particularly unique to begin with. It was really just SAO's version of the Japanese teenage boy insert character. They've been around forever and they've gone through some trends over the years and I really feel like they've moved past the Kirito lookalike phase by now.
