@ilhan691 they also criticize klaus and Elijah too. They're allowed to judge fictional characters. I don't know why people always get so upset over that

Paxton was as selfish as Devi was, that was the main point of him saying that-the irony of what she said to Anissa came back at her after Paxton said that.

One thing I really like about this show is how when Devi messes up, it doesn’t seriously try to portray her actions as good and necessary. Like how Fabiola and Eleanor stopped being friends with her for a short period of time (understandably) or how in this episode after she admits she spread the rumor, they leave. I think this part of the show was really well written because it doesn’t try to portray Devi as a morally good person while making morally bad choices. Also this does feel quite realistic for a teenager who’s like, going through it. It doesn’t particularly excuse what she did but it does explain and and that’s what I really like about Devi’s character

Tough episode for sure! One of the reasons I love Devi is that she is super flawed but actually learns and grows through her mistakes and experiences. There are so many full circle moments and parallels throughout the series that show you how much Devi grows as a person.

What Devi did is wrong ! Not only saying what she said to those girls, but lying and covering it up. She should be punished, yes. But she's not wrong though. Her punishment is worse than the one those two girls got. I mean, Devi started it, yes. Even if she didn't mean to, she started it and should be suffering consequences for her actions ! But those girls relayed the info to a lot of people and only got caught because they were discovered. While Devi told only three people, and even if she took time, admitted it herself. It doesn't exonerate her, not in the slightest ! But still... The question remains : WHY did she get a way worst punishment than the two girls that told everyone ? Or better yet, why did those two girls didn't get expelled too ? The punishment is fitting for the crime, in my opinion ! Because it's not definitive, but it still is substantial ! And what she did was terrible ! But what those girls did was terrible too. Arguably worse, since they don't seem to have any empathy, or regrets. So I would say I'm all for the punishment, except there is an injustice ! Devi shouldn't be the only one expelled, the three of them should be !!!

Honestly though, Devi didn't actually start the rumour. That was the other girls. All Devi did was make a nasty comment in a fit of anger. Was that still awful? Yes. Does she deserve the rap of starting the rumour? I would argue no.
@jddudjdj86072 күн бұрын
umm, she was the first person who mentioned the word "anorexic", as shallow and mean as Zoe and Shira are, they wouldnt have come up with that on their own, theyre the type of girls to regurgitate things they hear, not make them up. plus,the comment coming from Devi, who is a close friend of Aneesa, gave the rumor much more credibilty than if it was said by a random student.

@@GoatCheeseBrains and I agree! Devi is the type yes but she didn’t mean for it to go like that
@GoatCheeseBrainsКүн бұрын
@@jddudjdj8607 No, I agree with all of that. I don't think Shira would have made it up out of nowhere, and it was still wrong for Devi to say it in the first place. But she didn't actually spread a rumour. She was mad and said something hurtful as a jab at Aneesa (still a dick thing to do) and at the mild racism from the person asking, but it was Zoe and Shira who overheard and spread it as a rumour. Devi had no intention of spreading a rumour. Was she still an asshole? Yes. But she didn't start the rumour.

Could never hate my girl Devi!!! I’ve been her and that’s why she’s such a relatable main character because she isn’t perfect or makes all these decisions she’s still a teenager at the end of the day. I also still don’t think she started that rumor tbh she just blew up and it got out of proportion but the whole telling anessa to talk to the principal was bad

Yeah this episode was rough, I can't defend a liar. Starting the rumor on a friend out of jealousy, this punishment is definitely deserved. I just think it's crazy Devi barked at her mom to do something!!!?!?! Like what's she to do?..This was all Devi.

@11:50 Oh, Zuff... I adore you, but NO. The bigger issue was lying to cover up what she did, which wasn't a 'mistake' at all but something she chose to do with full knowledge of her action and its impact. Taking responsibility for our choices is part of how we learn and grow (up).

Definitely not. Paxton was being just as entitled and selfish as Devi. A tutors not responsible for reading every single word to you. Paxton doesn’t want to put in any effort himself. She literally made him flash cards, all he had to do was read them. He read one card and gave up, then tried to blame Devi when he failed.

@@RawTimee Actually Paxton forced himself into Devi’s plans bc he didn’t want to study himself. Also even if she didn’t show Paxton still had the ability and the materials to practice by him selves. He chose not to and then took no accountability.
