You almost never see a attempted murder charge because that requires you prove intent. You have to prove she was trying to kill someone by driving through a red. Not that she could have killed someone or that she should have known her actions could lead to someone being seriously injured or killed but that her intent was to kill. Does that sound like what she did or was she just a drunk driver fleeing the scene of a hit and run and caused another crash? Also, over charging can be hazardous in jurisdictions that don't allow for lessor charges to be considered on the charging docket. Say you charge attempted murder but cant prove intent when you could have charged felony assault where you don't have to prove intent and the penalties are similar.

You realize the justice system moves slow af. Especially when it's being considered attempted homicide. It can take years. A little education goes a long way 😊

Drunk driving should be 25 years minimum.

The rude ass elderly woman who is more upset about being detoured around a VERY BAD ACCIDENT THAN IF THE OTHER HUMAN BEINGS R EVEN ALIVE MAKES ME SICK!!!! It’s so sad how self privileged some ppl seem to be kinda proves why our country is in the condition it’s in!!!

Im sure she got no jail time a small fine....most charges probably dropped or lowered by the so called "prosecutors".
@psweeneyville23 күн бұрын
They should change the law that if you flee an accident, you are assumed DUI unless you took a blood or urine test immediately (within 1 hr) after the accident. DUI should be charged as felony attempted aggravated assault if no injuries, aggravated attempted murder with injuries, and aggravated vehicular murder if fatalities in all states. There should be mandatory jail time and at least 10 years probation with an alcohol tether (and hurry up & create a tether to detect drugs !). They also need to pay restitution for EVERYTHING including child support for victims children!!! And take all their property and assets - 50% if married or partner. 13,000+ deaths by DUI drivers 300,000+ injuries by DUI drivers Unknown 10s of thousands of dollars in property damages. Victims are never compensated and most often have to pay high medical bills and higher car insurance premiums in states with no-fault laws.

In Canada, it’s assumed that the reason you ran from an accident is because you were impaired. The penalty is the same.
@hiho808422 күн бұрын
I like the way you think. It's definitely a problem, and the consequences thus far, do not deter people from doing it over and over. I laugh when I see a suspended or revoked license as the punishment. As though that will stop them from driving again....laughable.

We're all talking about this nonsense with the driver, but anyone else catch the entitled old Karen treating the car accident as just a major inconvenience to her commute? Like she seems to want everyone to just move out of the way so she can plow on through, without a care there is a major crime scene investigation happening.

@rex825523 күн бұрын
She yells about being an addict like it's a "victim card" that's supposed to get her some slack. Nope, you've just added evidence disproving "Every life is precious" theory, and proof of the "Some people are worse than useless" theory. Who knows if she wasn't an addict.
