Trying to impress people that do not recognize nor bother to see your worth aren't worth the effort to do much because they only care what benefits them the most to only what pleases them. So, forget them and focus on a path to make YOU memorable for what is spectacular only to you.

I hope you guys see how responsible she was too. Even though she wanted to look spectacular, and the husband said "spend every last cent", she still had enough sense to not pay $800 on a bloody dress. On the other hand, she needs to change her social circle, if they are causing her personal shame. Life is just 100years, not enough time to care about random people.

I genuinely dont understand people like her. She cares about random women who dont really care about her. If she thinks a dress is going to change that, that is a very weak foundation of a friendship. Her husband is the one who loves her so much and his opinion is the only one that should matter to her.
