Human behavior expert here: She definitely knew they were fake. Her defensiveness was towards Top Shelf and questioned his numerous key identifiers for determining they were fake. She refused to agree with obvious differences pointed out to her for one very obvious reason. She wasn't upset that she got scammed by someone else, she was upset that her scam wasn't working on Top Shelf. Well done.
