I haven’t heard this song in over 15y. It perfectly explained a girl I was with recently 🌧 🌧 🌧 …I couldn’t stop her from self sabotaging us…couldn’t find the right words and it killed me. You love and you learn. I’m grateful this was uploaded. Not grateful for the old memories of inadequacy. But this song meant nothing to me back then, now it’s rather appropriate, though I wish I was more mature to understand when I was listening to this cD everyday.

They were courteous enough to come to a private school in Kentucky and do the worship service. They also did the Sunday night service. The lead singer gave his testimony, and then handed out this album no charge. I remember me and my room mate playing it over and over. And they do one heck of a worship service. Friendliest band I have ever met to date.

A friend of mine recorded this album for me on CD. Unfortunately someone decided to... relocate my CD folder. But that was about 15 yrs ago. I was almost 50 by the time i 1st heard these guys, which was right at the end of their careers (the original members having left already i believe). I may be an old foagy but i 1st started listening to Christian rock back in the 70's. From Resurrection Band (aka Rez Band) from the Christian commune Jesus People USA (JPUSA) deep in the heart of Chicago, to The All Saved Freak Band, 2nd Chapter of Acts, Daniel Amos, etc. The 60's & 70's were a great time of the Christian rock genre. When i volunteered for 3 yrs at Creation Fest West, i got to hear a plethora of bands, whether mild rock like 3rd Day to more hardcore the Red, to pop like Skillet to heavy metal like Demon Slayer, to mellow like Francesca Battucelli (spelling?), etc. Oh yeah. Don't 4get rap & soul. Anyways as w all styles there's good &... I'll just say, groups that need work. But at least they're trying. I was blessed just to be there, meet some groups, etc. My 1st yr when it was still at the Gorge at George (WA state), there was some 35,000 people worshipping the Lord on the closing night. I was w security & was down at the bottom looking up at them all it was like a wave of the Holy Spirit just pouring out from on top, "like oil dripping down Aaron's beard..." Anyways this East West group was 1 of my favorites.

Don’t judge me, but this is the song that was playing in my head when I got baked for the first time at the age of 31 years. I was paddling a kayak of my own on Lady Bird Lake in Austin; all the rental kayaks had to be turned in by 8 PM, so my adventure took place upon water that was as smooth as glass. The stars in the moon were above me and below me, and I was kayaking through the galaxy. At the same time, the cannabis made me so paranoid of bicycle cops in Zilker park on the shore catching a glimpse of me on the water all alone, but it added the most unusual flavor of exhilaration. It was the most beautiful night of my life. Since then, I have concluded that two major qualifiers constitute a genuine gift from God: 1) That it is for you, and you alone. Giving testimony about it is your choice, but nobody else experiences it, and nobody else has YOUR unique connection with God. 2) It can’t be repeated. And believe me, it was a fun time trying… But I was still unsuccessful. God tends to operate at an eternal crescendo; He doesn’t REPEAT a thing for you.

I had two friends, a husband n wife that had lived crazy lives, grew up hard livin' abused and abusing... the husband sang this song with my band one night, he sounded really good... surprised everyone. The band practiced the song once or twice, not even with him, but it came together really nice :) The wife passed away then their son, then the husband took a turn for the worst in trouble. I love this song, but it can hurt to hear it. thanx for posting it...lotsa memories.

Nothing like knowing Jesus Christ! Never in a million years would I have thought I’d know Him the way I do today! Grace of God over my life! A wretch like me that He would choose me… “As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me.” John 6:57 NKJV “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” John 6:63 NKJV

I know these guys personally. They were friends with my brother and my mom who'd drive him to the shows and they all kind of just became really cool with one another. My brother got diagnosed with brain cancer in 2000 and these guys were the most amazing support system I could have possibly ask for during such a crazy time in my life. They gave us the VIP treatment wherever we went with them and I got to know them on a personal level as well and these guys were not one of those bands who just talked about it, they really loved Jesus and it showed in their lives. The tole that the touring took on the band just was really too much for their families to bare and they were never in it for the money but the finances were also an issue and the only real way to "make money" is to tour. longer. and it was making it hard to deal with family life as they grew up and had children of their own and had wives at home. The last time I saw all of them together was at my brother's funeral in 2003 and they released "hope in anguish" a few months later and they dedicated the entire album to my brother Ricky and wrote "The Final Say" in his honor. They really seemed extremely depressed. I saw footage of the tour they went to in Holland and they just didn't seem the same on stage. The tone was off, Mikey kept talking about the Church and how much hypocrisy was going on. These guys saw it all with these churches behind the scene and I remember one time in particular where a "pastor" was mad that they were not playing enough songs on stage during a performance at some church I can't remember where but I just remember how much it bothered Mikey that the churches claimed that they wanted them to come to play music and do nothing else. It's like "don't preach to the kids, that's our job" kind of thing. I feel that had a lot to do with it as well because Mikey went on to become somewhat of a monk in this orthodox religion that was extremely strict with the scriptures and they were really into living as the prophets did and such if I remember correctly. I am still in contact with James Jenkins and his wife Erin and of course, Bobby Vergura is one of my good friends to this day. JJ is in a band called Silent Rise if you want to check them out. IT's nice to see him on the bass again I saw video of him performing recently I was really happy to see him on stage again. I love these men from the bottom of my heart. They were there for my family when we needed them the most. They came to visit my family quite frequently and of course we went to SOOOOO many shows but these guys were all down to earth and humble. Their loving actions to my family helped my brother get a chance to travel the country while he was going through chemo but he did it to spread the word of Jesus Christ. I can't thank these guys enough for their dedication and their actions speak way louder than their words and surprisingly even louder than their music. :) I owe such a great deal lof debt to them and I am forever an EW Fan and I hope the fans understand that they had personal issues to deal with and were touring fo 5 years straight, it will take a tole on a family.
