Is anyone still listening to this song? I’m Japanese, and 25 years ago, I took my first trip abroad. The destination was Disney World, and we stayed at the All Star Resort. I heard this song on TV there and quickly wrote down the title. On my way back home, I stopped at a CD store in the airport in Minneapolis. I didn’t speak any English, so I showed the note to the clerk. I was so happy when I could finally buy the album with this song! It’s still one of my favorite memories, and hearing this song brings it all back.

I miss them too. They were my major weapon in helping my daughter to understand why I like country music. Them and Martina McBride.

I saw them do a free concert at the World Trade Center a year before the attacks. They were great! It’s funny but since the death it Toby Keith, I’ve been going back and listening to the country music of the mid 90’s to early 2000’s and truly forgot how good and fun the songs were back then. Simple tunes not over produced that truly balanced the country music and southern rock genres. It really took me back. Good times!!

Amazingly, this song was quite a hit in Asia back in '99 when country line-dancing came on to the scene at that time. This was a zesty happy-go-lucky song that line-dancing groups just love to dance to

I think they were overlooked for The Dixie Chicks (whom I love too). They were compared to them because they came out with their first album after TDC made a massive impact on the charts with their own debut 2 years earlier. Three women, one main singer with two back up harmonists singing country music. I think radio favoured TDC. Whatever it was, SHeDAISY made really nice country music and deserved their time to shine. Their first album and singles from it did really well in the charts but after that, people just stopped caring even though their music was still quality. It happens to many music acts. Sometimes people like the whole "New" thing of the moment but don't want anything new from them! Look at Cyndi Lauper. As soon as she changed what people loved about her music and style her sales dropped dramatically and she' never had the same success despite still making music just like SHeDAISY!
@CritterKeeper01Ай бұрын
I think most musicians will tell you they would hate to just keep singing the same dozen songs over and over the rest of their lives. They'd rather keep growing and learning and trying new things. Plus, if they don't do anything new, people get bored with their music and quit listening to them completely except for occasional bouts of nostalgia. If they keep making new stuff, new people will find them and old fans might discover they love something they never would have listened to otherwise!

I actually didn't hear any of their music until about 2015 when I somehow stumbled upon one of their videos on KZbin and instantly fell in love with this group. Did some research and found out that the oldest writes the songs for them and all the impossible trouble they went through to get published and produced and my respect for them soared from that point on. I bought all of their CD and still listen to them today. Excellent music with catchy sound. Love these ladies.

What a great band. Also, their backup band kicked butt there. I think Phil Symonds and Mark Oakley appeared in the video. I'm not sure about the fiddler though. For a moment I thought it was Dan Kelly. Because I believe he was with Steve Wariner in the early 90s, Faith Hill in 98', Alan Jackson in the mid 2000s, and Clint Black recently. I'm not exactly sure if that fiddler was Dan or not.

I just wish the song had like a last verse telling us that’s ok. A way to make it ok cuz we may not feel pretty enough but that’s not the point of life even if for a long time we think it is. Instead I’m left sad by the song. I love this song cuz it speaks to my emotions I’m just evolved enough (and so is she) to know it’s not what matters In the end. This is my guilty song for when I’m wallowing in my shit.

@JamesMcHone Apparently, they dissed the U.S.A. to some foreign country while they were on tour. And apparantly, us Americans decided that if they didn't love the U.S.A., and had opinions contrary to that, they weren't allowed to perform. I haven't actually looked anything abou this us, but a friend of mine said it, and he was really into country music....

I know you asked this a long time ago, but it could have come down to the way they harmonized best (Kristyn always sang the low parts), or, maybe Kassidy had the strongest/most versatile voice.
