There's a good chance that might happened to Hina, and Takemichi has to WHATEVER it takes at this point. That's being said, I can't believe he actually said it. It's crazy, but I understand that it had to be done.

In defense of Takemichi: 1.- Age is just a number, being an adult does not mean being cunning/intelligent/wise. A 40-year-old can make as stupid mistakes as a 10-year-old. Now speaking specifically of Takemichi, he lived his life as someone who avoided every little problem he had in his life, obviously he hasn't the slightest idea what to do. when he is faced with a situation as extreme as the one he constantly lives. As we all saw, he doesn't make decisions based on logical reasoning but on his emotions and what he thinks is best. He doesn't think like an average person because he never lived like an average person. 2.- With or without knowing the future, Hina will always be in danger of being hurt as Takemichi's girlfriend. It's not like takemichi could just tell her "I'm busy doing dangerous things this month, wait until next month when no one wants to kill me anymore." Let's remember when Hina hit Mikey... if Draken and Mikey weren't good people Hina would have ended up very badly. Just like when they were on her date at the festival, Hina was in danger of being attacked by the traitorous members of the Toman. A couple of episodes ago Taiju and the black dragons almost beat Hina to death if not for Hakkai saving them. The further away Hina is from Takemichi the safer it is for her.

I think if he has control of making the same decision in the past but changing something else could have more on an impact idk. The reason Takemichi decided to break up with her in the way he did is so that she can hate him. Remember how in the future she was stuck up on him and still loved him even 12 years later? In his mind, if he gets her to hate him, that future won't be the same. Not only that, but it also makes it more likely that she won't come running back to him and putting herself in danger. That's why he did it this way.

HE doesn't seem like a 26 yo man in a 14yo's body (or is it 15/16?). At any rate his knowledge of the future doesn't seem to flow well when he goes into the past. He never seems to keep up with the pace of things, and he's always making split second decisions without thinking it through. Even before he went to the past in the first place, he was separated from Hina and she still died and it was one of the reasons behind his wanting to change the future. So dumping her now isn't going to stop her death from happening. Kisaki seemed hell bent on taking both Hina and Takemichi out of the picture one way or another. I have my theory but when Kisaki said "my hero" he was mocking Takemichi rather than calling him my hero as if looking up to Takemichi. In all honesty I think Kisaki liked Hina but after she met Takemichi she never really looked toward him... maybe at some point he mustered up the courage to ask her out but she was already with Takemichi or realized she loved him and wasn't up to dating Kisaki. Who even knows but it seems Kisaki has a grudge against Takemichi where Hina is concerned and he got unhinged somewhere to the point that if he can't have Hina then no one can and he would take Takemichi out for good measure. But the train incident didn't go as planned and therefore Takemichi could travel through time to fix things. Why Kisaki is doing things with Toman and focused on Mikey I am still confused but hopefully that will be revealed.... At this point though for me, I feel like a lot of things shifted to Mikey being the key issue and not the ones that we thought before like Kisaki killing Hina and so forth. I mean Kisaki did just state Mikey isn't all there anymore... well yeah... Mikey even said don't leave when he was talking to (grey hair; Hakkai's captain I forgot his name sorry). At this point the issue seems to be Mikey and less of a Kisaki thing because in all of the futures Mikey is no where to be found, he just isn't there... so what happened? I think Takemichi really needs to focus on that issue. What's up with Mikey?!

Takimitchy is a fool! I hope he makes better decisions later on in this show. He should at least say WHY he’s breaking up with her, or promise the dad she wouldn’t get involved in the gang life. If he really wanted her safety to be secure he would have left her before and told her why. Not after her dad said so. It her it looks like he just didn’t love her. Also he knows dating her or not wouldn’t affect her dying so why dump Hina? I feel like she ends up dating kisaki in the future but leaves him after confessing she still loves takimitchy.

I do agree that's a good reason to break up because of the raping and beating up of the girlfriends, but what I don't like is that Takemitchy isn't thinking of doing this decision on his own accord. He seems to not think things through or plan things out. I honestly believe he needs to stay with her. Black dragons and other gang members know she was with takemitchy or affiliated with him already, leaving her alone is dangerous as anyone can come up to her without takemitchy or anyone in toman protecting her. She has literally been in danger multiple times simply because she's around him. And yes, Takemichi is doing this because Hina's dad told him about the potential danger, but that doesn't mean he is selfish. He just never really thought about that possibility because he was preoccupied with trying to stop everything else. The fact he was willing to break up with her in a way that would make her hate him even though he still loves her is more than enough evidence to suggest he isn't selfish when it comes to Hina. He's doing this to protect Hina. And your point about other gangs knowing about his affiliations with her is null considering nothing happened to her for 12 whole years until Kisaki put a hit on her in the future. She is basically guaranteed to be safe for at least 12 years after he breaks up with her. And the reason he wants her to hate him is so that she doesn't come crawling back to him and putting herself in danger. Not only that but in the future, she literally explicitly stated that she was still in love with him. From Takemichi's perspective, he wants to avoid that future obviously, so he would rather her hate him and be safe than her still loving him and ending up with the same future.
