You're both so awesome and genuine... and although you said rock isn't genre you really like, it's obvious some songs are so beautiful they become genre-irrelevant. Evanescence has so many beautiful songs I bet you'll love. My Immortal, My Heart Is Broken, Going Under... for starters 😉 Love your reaction and you're both just so cute. 😘 Welcome to the magical world of Evanescence

I love Amy Lee because she sings her heart out and doesn't let anyone silence her whether they like it or not. "Use my voice" is on their new album and it epitomizes that persona

Great reaction - glad you liked it! :) More Evanescence is always a good idea! They have so many amazing songs. Going Under, Lithium, My Heart is Broken, Imperfection,... Or their new single Wasted on you (beautiful „homemade“ quarantine music video). Frankly, i’d recommend listening to their whole catalogue, but that might be overkill, so i just went with my faves that also have a music video 😅

That Seether song was about Shaun's daughter, he wrote it for her. Amy Lee was added later for a different take on the song.
@itsasquid2 жыл бұрын
So about this song. From what I understand, she didn't make it clear that it was about Shaun when it first came out. Their relationship was pretty public so people put the dots together and figure out that it was about him. That's when she confirmed it. Keep in mind something thematically about the first two of their albums. A lot of the songs on those albums were about her venting out her past issues with relationships. In fact, that's partially what Bring Me to Life was inspired by. She was asked randomly by a friend of a friend if she was happy and at that point, she was in a really bad relationship. That friend of a friend eventually became her now husband. But back on Open Door. That album thematically can be traced to her past relationship issues and feelings of loneliness in the early tours of the band, which makes the album ended with Good Enough even more beautiful. That song was written in response to her now husband proposing to her and the song itself acts as both a recap and her showing that she's nervous that it will end up like her other relationships but she's willing to try. If you really want to, you can technically think of Open Door as a concept album.

Love how you both picked up on the deeper nuances in the vid lol I remember reading how Amy had to fight to put this song out as the first single, off "The Open Door" album (my personal favourite). I love how unbelievably, drop dead GORGEOUS she is, toboot, when globally roasting the dude Lol. Sean's probably over it now XD He said at the time, that it came down to maturity haha. So... cut to 2020 & the brand new PS4 gamers, asking Evanescence to cover an iconic song of Fleetwood Mac's, called *THE CHAIN*... seriously, if you wanna be truly updated with this phenomenal band, that's weathered many drama's & adversities to remain here, vital, & rocking out, check THAT song out. The vid alone, is awesome. They're a really strong band, now. Loving & supportive & at the top of their games. All of them incredible artists. Also, for a great LockDown vid made on their phones, check out Wasted On You :-)

"broken" from seether ft. amy lee was a perfect collaboration between Amy Lee and Shaun Morgan... They actually dated 2003-2005 until Shaun checked into rehab in 2006, That's where Amy Lee wrote "Call Me When Your Sober"! Sadly Morgans brother jumped out a window to his death a year later 2007!

Of subject of the Goddess Ms. Lee. A great song to check out is Johnny Cash version of “Hurt” original by Nine Inch Nails. When done Trent (leader of NIN) hated the thought because it was too personal to himself. After seeing the initial video, he actually said “This is Johns song” It is the last known video Mr. Cash did before he passed.

Hey guys! Stick with Amy Lee! She s so awesome! This year , she collaborated with tons of artists but the duet that stood out the most is the one she did with Bring Me The Horizon called “one day the only butterflies left will be in your chest as you march towards your death”, from their most recent EP “post human: survival horror”. Check that one out. Doesn’t disappoint!

This song is about the break up with the singer for Seether, who had a problem with alcohol. You can't get a real reaction to Amy Lee without listening to "My Immortal". Probably one of the most moving and beautiful songs ever written. She also does a great version of "Going to California" by Led Zeppelin, and it's (in my opinion) the best Zeppelin cover I've ever heard...#AmytheGodess

I always thought that this song from her was tactless and petty. What the song fails to tell is the story of how when they split up at the same time the lead singer of Seether lost his brother to suicide after multiple attempts to take his life. Just prior to his suicide Shawn Morgan (lead singer of Seether) had written a song called Rise Above This which was dedicated to his brother CELEBRATING his SUCCESS at coping with his depression which made it strong all the more I am sure. After this time Morgan spiraled out of control. Later he released a song response to Amy Lee's jab called Breakdown. I recommend you react to that and I also recommend you check out Rise Above This actually before you look at Breakdown. It might put things into perspective but it is a song about the sensitive topic of suicide. Reneger there's always two sides and a lot of pain in the world unfortunately people stumble and fall. Those who truly love you will help pick you up off the ground if they can. Those that can't handle you when you are a mess probably weren't meant to be a forever person. In the end I don't care for either of them airing dirty laundry so publicly. I suppose that's one of the downfalls of being a celebrity musician. People know about your personal life and when you make your music it's hard to keep privacy unless you write nothing for the soul. My first time watching your channel. I'll check it more.
