The idea of Starlight (self-conscious and extremely skilled) being paired with Trixie (who is a complete moron with a gigantic ego) is one of the best things they did in these later seasons. Whichever writer came up with that deserved a raise.

@ I recall in DWK videos where there would be expressive faces, and he would call them “Meme faces”. It has been there since season 6, the animators are just a lot more comfortable doing it and do it more often in the last season.

When Starlight argues with someone things always get really ugly, I wouldn't want to hear the things she would say, seriously. One thing I like about season 9 is how the characters start to mature very quickly before our eyes, everything they've been through now you can see how they've changed and how they're changing, Mlp G4 It's like a sitcom, but without the audience laughter, just the growth

You just made me realize why they can't screen episodes of cartoons in front of a live studio audience, like they do with sitcoms (I mean, other than the obvious, that the action isn't happening in real time). Because the characters (or their voice actors) wouldn't be able to pause for laughter, and know when to start talking again. And trying to edit the animation for that in post while still keeping the episode within its runtime would be an editing nightmare!

9:19 Canonicallly, Starlight and Trixie are just friends. And they even say they are friends. They hang out the most partially due to Starlights other friends being busy most of the time. Trixie has a lot of free time lol If anything, i always got a romantic vibe from Starlight and Sunburst. And Starlight does have other friends. Maud, Thorax, and (technically) Discord are her friends as well! You could make the argument that she and Spitfire are off screen freiends since she asked Spitfire to help her teach Rainbow Dash's class when the Mane 6 were busy.

personally I see Starlight liking Sunburst but not the other way around. Sunburst just doesn't seem interested to that extent. and I think personally it would be a little weird, considering the way Starlight was obsessed with him to the point that losing him as a kid was what made her do all the things she did. I think it seems healthier for her to move on- but having said that, I don't mind if others want to see it differently and ship them, even tho I don't really get it. StarTrix on the other hand, I absolutely see them as girlfriends.

I feel like nowadays if people see two close characters together, they have to ship them. To me, that is very annoying. It’s like the word “best friend“ doesn’t exist anymore. That’s how I feel about Starlight and Trixie. In the show, it portrays them as good friends, and clearly nothing more. And you can’t tell me that Luster isn’t Starlight and Sunburst daughter lol🥰

@@Peaches501this isn‘t a „nowadays“ thing at all, people have been doing that since shipping and fandom have been a thing. and it‘s not super confusing as to why, since mlp in particular has been known to code gay/queer relationships as best friendships (i.e lyrabon, the canonically gay ship that they never explicitly stated to be a relationship, but they got married off screen; and the one gay background couple in eqg, whose whole development took place subtly over the course of eqg; also, technically fluttercord too, but you could argue they‘re a straight-ish ship). if all you can get from a franchise is background gayness/queerness, people are going to take the artistic liberty and interpret strong friendships as relationships. it‘s all up to interpretation and whichever dynamics appeal to you. and with mlp, a lot of its friendship dynamics *have* the potentiality to become healthy relationships. just don‘t engage with that kind of content if you dislike it and you‘re golden

This is yet another reaction I've been looking forward to from you, "Dragon Dropped" is one wacky Sparity episode I mean while I didn't really tolerate Rarity's "jealous girlfriend-based behavior" I thought it was nice that it seemed like Spike was slightly moving on from Rarity and hanging out with a new "Love interest" I.E. Gabby. In fact it was pretty good for Spike that he was moving on from his obsession with Rarity, because as we all know Spike's been barking up that tree since literally the first season of the show and it hasn't gotten anywhere since then, so yeah at this point it was high time that Spike started looking for someone new. Hell it was after this episode some people (Myself included) started shipping Spike and Gabby or "Spabby" as their official ship name goes, well i mean Sparity still wasn't going anywhere in terms of the fans because there will still always be Sparity shippers but one thing is for sure when i say that like it or not Gabby will always be an official part of Spike's waifu chart.XD "A Horse Shoe-In" is one of my favorite StarTrix episodes, seeing Starlight working on becoming the new permanent headmare of the school of friendship was good, although I couldn't really stand Trixie's behavior well except maybe for when she stood up for Gallus, but all of Trixie's attempts to convince Starlight to make her vice headmare were messed up but at least Trixie learned her lesson in the end and Starlight actually made good choices by making Trixie the new guidance counselor and Sunburst the vice head stallion, and as for Phyllis well she'll be okay.

Personally I like Smolder’s dynamic with Spike the most, but it’s more of a sibling thing. Spike was actually blushing around Gabby, so her likes her more that way, and he sees Ember as just a friend whereas she gets a little flustered around him but not much else.
