hot take: "growing up is hard to do" should have been a cake twins episode (maybe with bonus flurry heart for Flavor), not a cmc episode. like, those three fillies ALREADY KNOW EVERYTHING this episode throws at them as challenges. they have ridden trains onscreen. they have read maps onscreen. they've even DISCUSSED THE CONCEPT OF OLDER PONIES NOT AUTOMATICALLY KNOWING BETTER onscreen. on the other hand, if characters actually aged as time passed in the show, the cake twins should be around 5, which is an excellent age to have these misconceptions.

If I'm being honest, Daring Doubt is one of my least favorite Daring Do episodes and it did not give the Daring Do story arc a proper conclusion for the series, especially because of what they did with Ahuizotl to this day i think it was dumb that everything he ever did in the series made him out to be a perfectly understood bad guy but then when this episode comes along he turns out to be a misunderstood good guy, I still think that's both lazy and lousy character writing but that's just how I feel. Growing Up Is Hard To Do is yet another one of my all time favorite season 9 CMC episodes! although i remember this episode not sitting very well with certain Brony analysts because the episode was basically just a filler since the episode with Scootaloo parents felt like the official end to the CMC story arc of the show, while this episode on the other hand felt like nothing more than just filler just to answer a certain question that the fandom had been asking for years, the question being "What would be CMC's look like as adults?" and now that this episode answered that question so many of us could finally put our minds at ease. And as for the lesson of this episode it may have been basic and cliche, but it's still a good lesson to teach the CMC's because you know you should never be in a hurry to grow up because you're only gonna be a kid once so you might as well enjoy childhood while you can. Oh and that creature that could turn into a tornado, he was basically Taz from Looney Tunes is he were a doglike creature. And so you've made it to the final Slice Of Life episode of the FIM series! it's the best SugarMac episode i tell you what! Big Mac and Sugar Belle are like the 3rd canon couple in the series to get married and have an on-screen wedding! I say they are the 3rd because Cadence and Shining Armor and Cranky and Matilda are the other 2. And everything that happened in this episode was a real doozy, especially the apple monster part. although I did like how the parts where the characters told the story was like the confessional parts of what you would see on a reality show. but at least everything worked out in the end! But this episode proves even further that Discord can't be trusted to do anything right.

Really weird for them to pull a 180 on Ahuizotl and make him good when he was a literal villain in his debut, talking about bringing down the sun or whatever, writers just know how to shoot themselves in the foot constantly with all of their screw ups in this series and the bad episodes too. CMC episode was really good and of course Discord was gonna cause stupid stuff to happen with Big Mac’s plan and all that.

This is a fun set of episodes before the Finale Fluttershy’s element really shines and we get a small lore drop wish we used one of the other Daring Do episodes to explore it. Seeing the CMC all grown up was so jarring after seeing them develop through all these seasons of being like the little ones was so much fun and perfect way to close off the CMC episodes and their older designs look really fire and even getting a song this episode felt complete even tho the plot could’ve been more complex. Sugar Belle and Big Mac getting married was so cute even tho we didn’t get a lot of them throughout the series theyre still such an amazing couple. And I also love that they did a 2 perspective thing with this episode makes it even more exciting s9 definitely picked up can’t wait to see how the finale turns out

The CMC growing up episode isn't necessarily a bad episode in any way. It just feels a little out of place THIS season, more fitting for an earlier season when they were younger and more immature. Oft the case when some episodes are left on the cutting room floor and picked up for a later season.

Yeah, but there's a small issue with that. The CMC's got their cutie marks in later seasons, so I feel it'd be a bit weird to have three "grown mares" with blank flanks and others not call that out immediately.

While the final Daring Do episode wasn't my cup of tea since it felt unfinished ending it that way with her and Caballeron being upstaged by Ahuizotl with his own book. I figured, perhaps Zecora can assist Daring in her needs to explore a new adventure away from Ahuizotl's terrain. Now as for The Big Mac Question? My top favorite alongside Growing Up Is Hard to Do in this reaction! Big Mac and Sugar Belle finally tie the knot, but the guests present at their wedding? I feel should've had Starlight among them. Sugar Belle and her friends have long since forgiven her for her misdeeds, but it would've been rather touching Sugar Belle discovers Starlight secretly leaving by herself, runs, and embraces her thanking her for attending her big day. To which Starlight happily responds saying, "And I'm more than happy for you."
