She has a HEART for the PEOPLE - Helping Theresa restore her Community Center

Today we have an amazing transformation that will blow your mind. We originally knocked on Theresa's door to ask about her neighbors yard. Little did we know Theresa was praying for help with a dream of her own. After many of its members began to die this once flourishing community center started to die itself. Theresa took over as president with a dream and a passion to see it restored once again full of life and people enjoying it like back in the 60’s. We came in to help make that dream a possibility. Today you are going to see not only the Blessing Boys in action but the whole community come together to give this overgrown property a huge makeover and we needed all hands on deck today because it was huge. We joined hands, worked hard and realized along the way that what we do is more than just yard work.

I picture planters full of beautiful flowers, perhaps a vegetable garden and classes teaching the children how to garden. Job well done by all! It is wonderful to see a community come together to repair something that the community can enjoy as a whole. I already see a flagpole with the American flag blowing in the breeze standing in the circular fenced in area with perenials like day lillies, cornflowers and other flowers that will come every year and bloom all summer long. I can see swings, slide etc. for the children, horse shoe pits for the adults and maybe a small basketball court. Picnic tables under the pavilion on one end and an area for dancing on the other. I see birthday parties, picnics, family reunions, all kinds of celebrations........

Had a community cemetery and a pavilion where my mother grew up. Where I grew up when I was young (4-5) there was also a school & a church - my great grandfather donated a 1/2 acre when he retired from farming. We had reunions until the early 1980's.
