I think the disconnect there is that Jen is a self-insert by the writers, who are apparently too narcissistic to see their own flaws, so they just wrote those in as well. That's the only explanation I have for this deeply flawed wretch of a character which is nevertheless treated by the show as some sort of saint and hero. The writers simply refuse to accept that being a toxic narcissist is a character flaw. They think the audience must be toxic for not putting up with this queen.

It seems to be becoming clear what happened here. A group of writers got a job from diversity policies that they didn't deserve and lacked the skill to pull of. Early drafts of the show were so terrible that they realised they couldn't salvage a good show out of this, but they also couldn't afford to completely scrap it because of how scrapping a female show by an all-female writing staff would play badly in the press. The only option left was to make a bad show and try to pretend that the show was bad on purpose to bait out criticism and provide a meta-commentary on the genre and it's fanbase.

A good comedy that found the absurd in the mundane of being a lawyer that had superhero and cartoon clients. They did not have to copy it verbatim, mainly b/c it would not work, but they could have gleaned a template and gone from there. Not only does that sound like work but Birdman was written by people who liked the source material, so that would go against what the writers for She-Hulk stand for. Good video.

I'm curious if you think I might have been correct about at least some of that now. In that vein, I would expand this to the creators of this show don't think the writing of the original She-Hulk comics was good, or successful because of quality of the product. Also that they think people that are mad don't have any expectation of "good writing" but that the show failed to conform to the "Expectations of the system". So the criticism isn't valid because it's not actually about the quality of the writing, characters, or story, but a visceral reaction for defying "the system".

This is so sad... they should have used this very simple formula; She-Hulk is asked to defend multiple (seemingly unrelated) property damage cases. She begins to see a connection, that suggests they are subtly related. Turns out it is the Wrecking Crew. After Jen investigates this could lead to a satisfying fight between Jen and the Crew. It's not complicated..!

I never watched. Disney killed my FOMO. I figure if they do something great I can always catch up. Marvel can always figure out a decent front load for a series, but you know it’s going to turn to sheisse. Thanks for taking the bullet so we don’t have to.

This is the definition of narcissistic behavior. They relish in the attention no matter how negative and just care about the fact that they have gotten a reaction they can use as narcissistic fuel. How sick do you have to be to enjoy causing discomfort and sadness in other by knowingly ruining something they care about. I mean did any of us chop down all the avocado trees in the world? These people need mental help.

I so much love these videos that you make. The variety of humor and slanter rants with the absolute truth is top notch every time. Much love for the entertainment crafts here.
