Different context but there was a guy who asked my distant cousin out on a date. He was always pestering her and that day, they were near a lake. He was saying 'If you don't say yes, I will jump into that lake and drown. That's how much I love you, I would rather die and be rejected' or sth like that. She replied 'Go ahead. Do it.' He hesitated before biking away. He stopped asking her out after that.

She's just unlucky, it's sad, I feel bad for her. But instead of comforting her people of her town did the opposite. No wonder she's so broken. And I don't feel pity for those people, sorry, but they deserved what they got

I wish this summary had explained the significance of the moment Teddy jumps into the silo and dies. Earlier in the movie, Teddy jumps into the silo and does not sink because it is full of grain. He's able to just lay on top of it. You don't realize it then but this scene is foreshadowing. Later in the scene when he's trying to convince Tilly that curses aren't real and he jumps in, the silo is full of sorghum which is much less dense than wheat. Hence Teddy sinks right in and asphyxiates.
