Hi mate I love the series! I’m 13 and I live in Australia and I have a 1982 rm125 that I have been restoring and ur vids are really helping to motivate me. The only problem is that’s it’s almost impossible to find parts in Australia without people charging too much.

It’s so wonderful to see you repairing the parts that you can on this bike, so many restorations on KZbin are just new parts being installed. Cheers

Hello loving this series. I used to own and race one back in the day. Well I say raced just wobbled around at the back of the pack in the b group lol. Great memories. Love that you have tried to reuse everything that you can it’s going to look great when it’s finished. Great job.

For the old copper washers, heat them red with a flame and throw in cold water. They come out new and soft.

My thoughts exactly, after all its having its life retained by showing patina and its still usable. Maybe some classic racing?

Minor tip - don't sand your copper washers - cook them! In aviation, we'd take all the washers off our plugs during maintenance. Hang them on some stainless wire, then heat them up to red (just before they melt!) and allow to cool. Softens them right up. I've got a '78 TS that I bought new I've been restoring.

That is a great tip! I completely forgot I could anneal the copper. Just as well as it’s leaking! Thank you

Fork boots are almost impossible to get, but still available, from Motoduro UK.

Yes they are but if you are pedantic like I am there are too many bellows. The RM looks distinctive with its large bellows.

@MyRestoration1 the one's I'm using on my 82 RM 250, have 14 bellows, and the boots have a bit of stretch to them.

From Motoduro? I seem to remember looking at the picture and counting. That said I might have got 1 set from them for the 125 project so now you jar my memory!

Hi there. It’s on hold until I get these Mx bikes out of my system. I have to be completely immersed to do this. That said not much left but there is a twist to the story..all will be revealed! Thank you 🙏
