For the record if anyone sees this who’s learning Godot, the project is FOSS and has a ton of different contributors in and out of the Foundation itself-not even including the people who develop plug-ins or other additions to the engine. This is to say the project/community is really decentralized, and 99% of it cares mostly about making games. The community manager apparently going rogue won’t (and can’t) change any of that. And I’m willing to bet she’ll be reigned in soon enough. TLDR: keep making games, Godot’s going to keep getting better at making games, and it’s physically/legally impossible for any kind of political attitude to really impact that in any significant way.

It's VERY common in the Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) For this mentality to take over. Partially because FOSS have kind of socialist values, but also because FOSS projects are easy pickings for the radicals to infiltrate. Godot is very nice, easy to use software with no strings attached. It has potential to make top selling games, and as we can see the creator of it doesn't share those radical values of the community manager. Seriously need to vet these people before they are put in charge of anything

The problem is that engineers and software developers don't play social politics, so the social justice types always end up with too much influence. It's disturbing how common it is for the people who actually build the engines to be at the bottom of the company hierarchy that emerges over time. I've seen small startups of < 10 people, which grew into 100s, and this fat management/HR layer emerges above the technical people and basically wrests control of the ship. One positive thing that can be said about the likes of Musk, is he sets an example of a more engineer / logical minded personality running a company and cutting out the bullshit. But you can sense that he had to push against his own introverted personality every step of the way.

Almost all of the entertainment industry, at least in the US, is filled with people like this woman. It's especially prevalent in the tech industry because geeks are drawn to tight knit online communities that act as a refuge for social outcasts, and that's where this woke ideology gets promoted the most. It's no coincidence that these people almost always have the same phenotype -> the uglier, the worse the vision, and the weirder the hobbies (furry/anime bs) then the more likely it is that they'll have pronouns in their bio. I realize that's a shallow thing to say but it's almost always the case and it's hard not to recognize the pattern. But you really shouldn't be all that bothered by it. Godot is open source so whether the creators agree with your ideology or not isn't that important. I imagine there's a ton of stuff that you participate in (games, websites, etc) that are run by people like her, maybe they're not as extreme or open about it, but they're there without a doubt. It's pretty much a requirement on your resume at this point, since the woke ideology pushes the idea that you're evil if you disagree with them. I just finished my first Godot game a few months back (an MVP just to learn the engine). For those that don't know, Godot is open source and super developer friendly, I believe it's free to sell games in Godot even. I was planning on making something bigger in Godot, but now I'm changing to Unreal and hopefully that's my last jump. First the Unity fiasco and now this...
