You need to go view other articles about this case. There is alot more to this case that has been left out. She is on camera buying cigarettes and riding around hanging out with Todd after the alleged rape. She even has her phone on her and never called police .. She called her mom to ask for money for her and Todd after he supposedly raped her, she tells her mom that Todd tried to kill her but insist that her mom not call the police and instead to just send them some money and a ride to go get cigs. Then after the murder they originally tell cops that the brother shot Todd and then later changes the story to she shot Todd. Something is way off about the motive for killing Todd.

Brittany Smith, an Alabama woman who killed a man accused of raping her, has pleaded guilty to murder. Brittany was sentenced to 20 years, court records show. But the sentence was split for her to serve 18 months in the Jackson County Jail and 18 months on house arrest, followed by probation. Because she will receive credit for the time she spent in jail awaiting trial, Brittany will be released to house arrest in about seven months, according to her attorney.

It blows me away and angers me when this happens. Men don't know the feeling of having to be alert at all times like a woman does, even just going to the store we women have to scan the parking lot for potential trouble. Men are bigger and much stronger and can easily over power us, pretty much the only thing we have to protect ourselves is a gun or a knife. That girl should not be in jail period! Thanks for your thoughtful and in depth video Lamont, you always nail it perfectly.

She would've had a good defense if she killed him in the act. But she told her brother some time later and shit hits the fan so she kills him. I don't know man. I don't agree with what he did to her but there again, she was wrong for the way she handled her business. Should've went to the police instead of taking matters into her own hands. Bravo for her taking him out though. Probably saved a lot of women from the same torment.

I'm an LPN, (licensed practical nurse) here and I don't understand HOW you can see physical signs of an assault but yet find no "evidence" of rape when you do a swab for an SA kit?? Unless there was no semen present? All I can say is wow. People who have actually been PROVEN to have MALICIOUSLY KILLED their OWN CHILDREN have gotten lesser prison sentences than this woman and yet she's going to be made to jump through the government's hoops so to speak for the next 19 years??!! Un fucking believable.

Punishment for killing your rapist. I honestly don’t even have the words right now to describe how fucked that is. Our justice system does many great things to try to keep us safe but there are still so many ridiculous things as well.

I worked with a woman whose husband raped her with a vacuum cleaner turned on. It completely messed up her innards. After a year or two of healing she ended up finding him and shooting him. They gave her 10 years prison time. She is a lovely lady.

Yeah, I was thinking she had coming to her what he did because no woman should be doing drugs alone with weird creepy guys. Women need to start taking responsibility for the situations they put themselves in.

The arson was probably a direct result of the unresolved trauma. This woman is gonna need help when she is released or she's gonna end up serving the full sentence. I hope she can get the help she deserves, because it's out there waiting for her!

No. The arson is a direct result of her being a petty criminal drug addict. Life’s never gonna get better for her because she won’t take responsibility of her life and make it better
