welcome back to another cockatiel morning routine- this time with a lil surprise

It’s spring time and that means extended day light hours, warm weather and raging cockatiel hormones, how fun!
Decreasing hormones is v important like decreasing daylight hours for your feathered friend as they need 12 hours of sleep every night ( how lucky), a healthy diet including: a variety of pallets, fruit, veggies, grains and a small amount of seed and also plenty of stimulation through foraging activities and new toys during these times but sometimes an egg may appear and it’s quite the surprise! If your bird is an egg popper like my dear Emma, make sure to regularly check their weight as that is a great indication of their health, as well as their poops. one or two eggs every year or two isn’t a bad thing if you have a healthy little bean as hormones can get out of control sometimes BUT the real concern is when chronic egg laying comes into the equation. If you suspect anything, PLEASE contact your avian vet !!

My cockatiel did the same thing and every other day she laid an egg. She laid 8 eggs but we removed it after 4 weeks❤

Omg you doing everything with a bird on you is exactly what happens with our girls. We have 2 female cockatiels and everything takes just a tad bit longer but I wouldn't trade it for the world ❤️

Hewlp I can seem to get my cockatiels that I have had for a few weeks now, and can’t get them to eat chop. At all….. it’s have tried a few different recipes. They don’t like any thing i have tried, which is greens, broccoli cauliflower apples orange peppers green peppers cabbage can’t seem to get them to try any of them. They want nothing to do with any of it.

mixing with seed, pretending to eat the chop, eating with them are just a few suggestions but it takes time! but girls didn’t eat their chop for months but I kept making it & putting it in their cage and eventually they get curious enough to try it 🤍
