To be sure, initially she found his love for her useful and his devotion to her stroked her ego...but only that & no more than that; her sights were set on the Emperor! In this story, I found that she was devoid of loyalty and unable to love anyone really. Why? Well, if you've yet to meet her mother, this will explain some of her ruthless calculations.Still, I believe this character proves herself to be a cold-blooded sociopath that would use anyone, kill anyone- -as she saw the need...Her hands are full of the blood of her victims. Her myopic focus is matched only by this Emperor's Scary!

All that I can tell you is that Sir Ling was punished because Wei poisoned one of Ruyi's sons with mushrooms, which made him hallucinate that Ruyi was actively engaging in an affair with Yunche. This, of course, played right into the twat emperor's insecurities (since he low-key knew that Yunche was a better man than him) and he jumped right at the chance to have him tortured. I can't tell you much about Ruyi since that would be a spoiler for the end of the series but she is upset about the fate that was dealt for poor Ling Yunche. She is physically fine... for now.
