It improved alright, but it was already good even the first episode. I usually don't like cartoons because they usually have such a weird style but this one, this one was special. Maybe it's the anime-inspired look of it. And the pretty lightning, and so many soft colors. As well as pretty realistic anatomy. That's my biggest pet peeve or whatever with cartoons; huge heads, tiny bodies! As if anatomy doesn't exist anymore in the cartoon universe. I'm so glad these animators went with actual human anatomy! And uses different body types as well.

I felt sad in that scene too. I wouldn't call it the most heartbreaking moment in the series - for me, the most heartbreaking moment is either when Catra saves Glimmer whilst screaming an apology to Adora or when Light Hope remembers Mara, lowers her hand and tells Adora to "do it" before thanking her as she dies - but although Shadow Weaver was a shitty mother, her death was still one of the scenes that made me cry.
