Marty, Thank You for show casing Grace, she is amazing, way beyond her years, and I can't wait to watch her career as a musician. I've only just come across her music; I have a lot of catching up to do. Hypnotic to watch her.

My wife bought me first guitar (acoustic) when I was 25 and I'm completely self taught with a lot of help from Marty. I barely played it for a decade, just off and on. 43 now and I've learned more in the past year than in 17 years. I still play on the same acoustic and I'm actually recording my first full song this weekend. This year was the first year that I could sing while playing. That break through took a long time, but worth all the frustration and effort. If I can learn to sing and play, anybody can. Never give up.👍🏻

Guitarists like Grace really make me wish I started at a younger age, but then again, I’m still 16 now and I will continue to play and improve.

Dude you started early enough, dont worry my man. I started guitar at 25, im 28 now and i play/practice everyday, literally, without exception everyday. I played other instruments but no stringed instruments until 25y/o. Ive heard of guys starting in their 50s and they sound decent. Its all about enjoying yourself and expressing your thoughts and emotions, its not about how good you are compared to others. Everyone can improve, even the best if the best.

So if she started at 9 or 10, and at 16 she is this good, it gives us new players a range of years to get better. You are inspiring young lady!
@thejakefromstatefarm67682 жыл бұрын
Everyone learns and progresses at their own pace. You could move along faster than she did or you could take alot longer to progress. It depends alot on how much time you put into in those years. If you want to get good you should always have a guitar in your hands. Just noodleing or whatever. It’s not about how much time it takes to learn it’s about how much time you put into learning.
@ChessemillPerezChristopher2 жыл бұрын
@@thejakefromstatefarm6768 my guitar is always in my hands. I'm retired, so I dedicate much energy to improvement. She is very inspiring and my sentiment was for us who are little slower. Lol But of course you're right some pick it up a lot quicker

Thanks, Marty! It is awesome to see young people picking up the guitar and getting really good at a young age. I must say, as someone who got told back in the day that 'Girls don't play the electric guitar! You can have piano lessons, but that's it!' - it is great to see young women who are drawn to playing guitar NOT having those barriers in their way. Rock On, Grace!

If you can always try to find the best player around in the genre your trying to learn, because if you just learn all the basics on guitar a certain way, it's like pointing you at a direction, say if you want to play country vs rock, or folk singer type song writer stuff, there's definitely ways to curve learning
