The recreation of what her vision potentially looks like was brilliant. Really puts things in perspective and really frustrated me to be honest. As an artist who works with film and is behind the camera and in front of the camera and loves to draw and do photography... my ability to see is one of the top 3 things I am grateful for every day. I love being able to see the world. Molly is amazing for having her channel and teaching others how some people have to view the world in a different way. Thanks for sharing her with us, Casey.

Yeah, but thats the thing. i think that occured in his mind to be the obvious answer, but asked anyway to be sure, because yelling IS IT MY TURN NOW? can seem very obnoxious to people unaware of her dissability. I'm partially sighted (blind in my right eye) and I have challenges that I don't talk about like making sure the tripod and camera are positioned so it looks like I'm looking at the camera and struggle to walk and vlog. Casey this is such a powerful video. I love that you are bringing awareness regarding individuals with disabilities. I was definitely moved when you got to the coffee shop and started to talk about how you felt with the blindfold and the fears your were experiencing. In the end Molly is just like the rest of us. She's human and living her life as anyone would with a disability or not. But it does make some of us realize how blessed we are to have the ability to see, or walk, or speak. I am hopefully that this video will encourage others to help individuals with disabilities and not be out off or scared to offer help. Be more involved in this community. I work as a vocational rehab counselor and this is passion. So when I saw this on my feed it made me love your work and who you are as a person 1000x times more! Thank you for this video!

From a neurological perspective blindness is extremely interesting. See when our brains have a "vacant" spot so to speak it will repurpose this portion of the brain. This unfortunately means most people who have been blind for an extended period of time no longer have the capability to know how to see. What's even more interesting is that our subconscious thinks in visual concepts so when somebody becomes blind their method of thinking shifts. The lanaguage center of the brain actually begins to enlarge which facilitates somebody who is blind to begin thinking in language more often, which forces the frontal cortex to become activated. Meaning..?.. Blind people are more likely to be logical thinkers.

I've been so obsessed with Molly this month. I'm so happy you and Shane had introduced her to the KZbin community, she's amazing !

It's very interesting that she still has the same mannerisms as a person with vision. Like when she puts her hand underneath her chin when Casey introduces her.
@FernandoSilva-fp2ng7 жыл бұрын
If you mean how can she know she's putting her hand under her chin, it's not thansk to her vision it's thanks to our brain, like when you have an itch in your back and you know exactly where it itches without actually seeing it
@gandalfthegrey31017 жыл бұрын
fernando jesus her brain 😉

Yeah, I thought the same. Like she hasn't saw someone do that or even saw herself pose like that yet she does it naturally.
@D1cko8887 жыл бұрын
I think Billip is referring more to the poses and pouts that are the current trends in young womens selfies and photos in general. How does she know what the current trends are in posing. I'm sure Billip will correct me if I'm wrong in the interpretation of the statement, but it's something I thought of myself too.

This makes me really appreciate what we (UK) does for blind people. We have stubs on crossings so blind people know that they are able to cross. Our traffic lights also make a beeping sound, but we also have a little nozzle underneath the button that spins when it's time to cross, this is in case the blind person is also deaf or the sound isn't working on the traffic lights. America needs these systems in place.
@rachkate767 жыл бұрын
Michael Brooks We have similar things here in Australia... it's embarrassing that the US does so little to help make the blind independent and safe.
@Ultra20407 жыл бұрын
I totally didn't know that the textured tiles around crossings were for the blind until a few weeks back, it's such a simple yet awesome idea.
@salmacaraig44137 жыл бұрын
We have similar things here in the US but not all cities/states have adopted it yet.
@MichaelBrooksUK7 жыл бұрын
It's such a shame it's not a requirement for all cities and states to implement, but I guess it's hard because the country is so massive any way. There should be a push to get these standards in asap.
@MichaelBrooksUK7 жыл бұрын
Yeah and the thing is, until you see a video like this you really don't get to appreciate how much it can help someone. I was taught about them in my driving lessons and wish more people understood their uses.
