Wow I never heard anyone say that about nursing.. I questioned for years if I made a mistake by not going into nursing... do you mind elaborating on why u say that? I really thought the opportunities were endless. I went into OT and found that to be a dead end career

@@ladylin3026 OTs make great money where I'm from. To make that kind of money in nursing, you will wear out your body (and your mental health) working full time in an ICU. It's ok as a part-time job - when you can catch breaks. These health care companies will demand more and more of you. Nurses do not generate income, so they're considered a liability on the balance sheet. Hence the epidemic of short-staffing.

As a person at the TOP in nursing I’m here to tell you it is not a dead end career. As with all careers, It is what you make of it. How you pivot & get into the right rooms determines your trajectory. The ability to launch in so many directions is endless.

@@tinamarie8061 I have adult children in other industries. They get paid very well, have great health insurance and have a good amount of time off with their families. They can also work remotely when needed. Nursing provides very limited opportunities for most of the above. Plus, in the U.S. your company REQUIRES you to see their own providers. Ultimately, they are making money off their own employees. Also, there are few opportunities at the TOP that you speak of without going to the dark side of administration.
