My husband and I have 4 kids. We live halfway across the country from either of our parents, so I’m always taking road trips with the kids back home. Distance between us is so good for our relationship, distance really does make the heart grow fonder! But he always has flowers all over the house, clean sheets on the need, and the house totally cleaned, all the way down to the floors being mopped. It’s such a special treat for me, and means so much when he does it for me! Especially because it looks like a bomb went off the moment we u load the van!

My husband has this certain Cologne that he wore all the time when we were dating. Now every time he wears it I smile instantly because it makes me think of us way back then. We also both bought new perfume and cologne for our wedding day that we’ve never had before just for the wedding so now when we wear them on special occasions we are reminded of our wedding day. I highly recommend that to anyone that is getting married. It was such a nice touch and something you can wear after your wedding. We love it.

Matt, you did a great job cleaning up. A little advice from someone who has been there, Abby is going to be overwhelmed when you bring that new baby home and she will be taking care of her healing body and feeding that baby a lot. You can help her mental health and yours A LOT by simply putting things away as you use them. Instead of throwing clothes, shoes and towels everywhere, put them where they belong. Handle things only once. When you disrobe, put the clothes where they go. Then you don't have to touch them again. When you are done eating put the dishes directly in the dishwasher, not the sink so you have to then handle them again. It's about touching things once and not having to revisit things again and again. Mail is the BIGGEST one. As you are walking back from your mail box, flip through your mail. Put the bills in your drawer for that stuff, the JUNK, directly in the trash or recycling. That pile is only going to get bigger and more overwhelming. When you unpack the amazon stuff, put the wrappers directly in the trash, not on the counter/floor where you have to touch it again to get rid of it. Not picking on you at all, but as a woman who has had children, it's pretty tough on a woman's body and recovery takes a bit. If you keep all the little stuff under control, both of you can focus on the baby and the freee time you have can be enjoying each other. When she has a free moment and everything is not a mess she will be happy to see you. You two are going to be wonderful parents.

The whole time I was watching this and the other videos of the week I was thinking that Matt has ADHD where he’s putting off cleaning. My sister does this and she has pretty severe ADHD. Someone said that ADHD is a lack of grasp of time - so it’s hard to do things until it’s urgent. Something that can help is “speed cleaning” in which you set a timer for 5-15 min and try to get everything done in that time. This makes it a game and helps the brain feel the urgency… good luck!!!! 🍀 happy y’all are reunited!
