Oh my...Granger...I can not wait to read your book. I have been a Christian since I was 8...I'm 66 now. I have felt like I have lostt my adult daughter...not to loss of life...but to loss of her mind to drugs. I have been battling breast cancer for a year and a half and felt like my depression has stemmed from that. I have never mentioned this to anyone...but in the last few days have realized that is in fact due to my grieving the loss of my precious daughter as she was before. And then today I watched this video about your book. I've watched you since before the tragic loss of River and just love you and your family soo much. Thank you Granger. I have never commented on your blogs but watch all of them. We lost our only grandchild Sept 2022. She was 26. I am so overcome with grief I can’t seem to get past it. The first chapters of your book sound just like I am still feeling. Faking it everyday. I look forward to reading your book and pray that it helps me. I’m crying watching this! God gave us our miracle pregnancy this year after 5.5 years of trying and 1.5 years of IVF. I’m 21 weeks, just a month or so ahead of Amy. I joined an awesome mom’s group that was formed by some moms from City Reach church in Cedar Park, TX. Everyone is so sweet and around Amy’s age if she ever wants to join us!

I very happy for y’all mrs Thomas, my parents ended up adopting me after 5 + years of trying. For those that aren’t having success I as a 53 year old adopted child who had 2 AMAZING parents AND an amazing Biological mom whom I have a GREAT relationship with as well,…..I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE ADOPTION,… and RVEN MORESO STRONGLY ENCOURAGE EXPECTING unwed mommas to NOT TAKE THE EASY way out of ABORTION, but pray about it and TRUST GOD and help the wonderful parents out there that have the means and SOOO MUCH LOVE and KNOWLEDGE to SHARE and give your child. Abortion is the selfish taking of a child’s life, and JESUS has sooo much more planned for both you AND your child than the SIN of murdering you baby for the sake of the mothers convienience. Sorry to get preachy, but this is a topic I am personally VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT. As a child that was saved by Grace more than once in my life, and I’m all about saving others as well.

I had the opportunity to read an advanced copy. This book has all the feels. It will absolutely gut you, it will make you realize how misleading social media is, it’ll break your heart as a fan of The Smith’s because we had no idea how dark your suffering got. I think we sometimes forget that some of this stuff is recorded quite a while before we see it, and it’s not always shown sequentially. It would be a difficult and heartbreaking task, but for you to make a movie recreating your book on film would be a masterpiece, not necessarily for theatres, but as a ministry tool. Granger i know losing my brother at 46 is not the same as losing a baby but i have grieved since 2018 never went nowhere but work n home for 4 yrs. I still can't get over it we was so close even though we was almost 8 yrs apart it was like losing my twin..i wish i was as strong as you n Amber..much love❤to you both!!

I lost my dad in June of 2014 and then mom went in Dec. of 2016, and I moved here to help my mom with dad and then I took care of my mom. Losing the leaders of our family was the hardest thing I have ever been through. It is like a piece of you goes with them. I am so sorry about your little one, River. I had started watching your videos a little bit before that happened. I cannot imagine what that feels like. I will have to get your book. Thank you for sharing everything you have with us all. So happy for Parker and Amy as sat in tears of joy when everyone in the family found out. The best part was seeing the twinkling excitement in Grandma Smith's face. At least Granger and Amber now are going to be Uncle and Aunt with the kids a cousin. Granger what you talked about that is in the book could go for other situations as well. It's a road map book to help you work things out for yourself. The way I see it God called you to write the book and Jesus gave you the perseverance to do so. Much Love to the Smith's!

I have read the book and it is amazing! There are no words to describe the feelings you go thru when reading it. It's so well written you feel like a fly on the wall watching it all happen. I have “Like a River” on preorder and after watching this video I can’t wait to get this book in my hands. I started following “The Smiths” after hearing about River’s death on a video by “Arms Family Homestead”. As I think back to the first “Smith’s” video I watched it was the first video you did after this tragedy and I admired the way you were handling it. I never lost my belief in God but went through a period of not going to church and not keeping God first in my life. I started back to church about the time I saw your video and there were some things going on in my life that made me realize that I needed to put God first again in my life. After hearing you talk about the book I am more than ready to get it read and to pass it on to as many people as possible. Amber’s “Arise” videos are also very important in my life as I am reaching out to God again. “The Smith’s” are very much a part of my life and I absolutely know that God put you in my life at a time that he knew I needed to know your story and that your family would help me through my own struggles in life.
