There’s a common trend that influencers like pickle girl don’t seem to understand, or they do this on purpose, who knows. Hate comments are unfortunately just part of being an influencer. There are many that go too far and that’s not okay. But as of right now, they will still happen, no matter WHAT you do. That said, it’s frustrating that influencers like pickle girl ALWAYS try to use that to turn around and invalidate the actual/main criticism, when these two issues are SEPARATE ISSUES! They go “look see I don’t deserve this hate!” Yes, they don’t deserve EXTREME hate that goes too far; but again it’s a SEPARATE problem. Most if not every time they do this, it just makes it worse. Like her whole thing with the screenshots and stuff as if she’s trying to prove how everyone else was in the wrong and not her. Hon, you’re using this to try to deflect from the main issue that YOU WERE WRONG. You messed up. No amount of deflecting is going to change that, just… stop. It's natural human psychology. Everyone has their own personal limit in how much they'll accept fault and admit wrong doing until a switch flips where they'll refuse to accept any more accountability. How hard is it for people to sell the RECIPIES to their food products instead of jumping through the hoops of selling the actual product when you dont have the facilities to do so?! Edit: Many folks on Etsy do this, and there are legal things involved to make sure the recipe isn't pirated, and its not usually a copy they sell you but protected access to it - just like an NFT. Plus, people don't do it for very long as the good ones save up the money from the recipe sales to upgrade their facilities so they can sell the actual product. Also, not everyone has THE TIME or THE ENERGY to do something as involved as pickling/canning. As someone who works 60+ hours a week, I definitely don't have the time, and I rely heavily on other establishments for my food.

Cottage law is not like a regular church bake sale, you have to actually go through classes, get certifications, have your kitchen inspected, and several other things I'm too tired to think of right now. It's not as simple as getting a food handlers certification, which can be done online and takes about eight hours to get. You not only have to know county laws, but state laws, as well. Then there's the amount of time it takes to get your paperwork processed. It can take MONTHS in some cases, and she seemed to think she could get everything together in a couple DAYS.

You know this won't be a popular take but honestly I feel a little bad for her. She isn't the brightest bulb out there, she was ignorant about a lot of stuff, and she kind of blew up over night. She wasn't prepared for the success, let alone for the backlash and criticism, but obviously lying was the worst mistake. I certainly hope no one got sick from her pickles, but if she really is passionate about it and makes a quality, safe product after learning from her early mistakes, I can't root against her. We live in a society of folks who prey on the downfall of others. People should be allowed time to correct, grow, and learn from their mistakes. Now, this is all contingent on the fact she didn't actually make anyone sick and that she doesn't dox anyone or Iie about refunding everyone. Maybe I'm cutting her too much slack, I don't know.

The FDA don't play. People can't do food safety crimes and expect to make an internet apology and get away with it. People don't seem to understand that, "oops, my bad" doesn't work in real life

0:37 This is how to make an apology video. "I've accepted I was ignorant, and I will learn from it. I will take accountability". There is no bullsh*t of, "I'm sorry," Pause. Sigh. "I had a bad childhood, that is no excuse for my behavior, but I had a bad childhood. Oh, and also, what I did was actually not that bad if you think about it. I'm only human. I'll grow from this experience so you should subscribe and click the bell for my future content."

Love how she claimed to have the license already, then straight up claimed shes "getting" her license in the video straight after and this somehow doesn't get her arrested instead of media posts by the government telling people not to buy this shit...

She was a 100% in the wrong in all capacities BUT the public going after her is no better. The bullying, attacks and threats including death threats are ridiculous and completely uncalled for. All these rabid mobs with their pitchforks need to stop.

She wants to run and own a small business but you must do all your research and get your product approved and licensed before selling 15,000 units and she should of known that before making her first sale. I believe people are having a problem with her and her pickle business because she did not do the most common thing to do when starting a business and had no regard to any safety issues and that’s why people are hating on her because now she is doing the right steps but can the public really trust your product or your business because what else does she not know or what else is she doing that could be dangerous to consumer health. Plus she is going about the whole thing the wrong way by getting defensive when these are your customers all she needs to do is ignore the haters and truly come off as apologetic and sincere and knowledgeable of her business

So many people started a side business since the pandemic started and none of them actually researched how to do it. People think they can just sell food like they sell used furniture.

If she took accountability the first time around she would have had much less so called 'hate'. Regardless, I hope she learnt her lesson...

I really kind of like her. When she doubled down in the beginning that was obviously wrong, but she then went ahead and did what she was supposed to do to get her business off the ground legally. And also offered everyone refunds knowing the massive amount of money she would lose. I appreciate her apology, and it seemed sincere. Good luck to her and her pickle business ❤

This is just one of the things that really shows her (lack of) intelligence. That phrase doesn't make sense. How can something bad, be good? It's supposed to go "ANY press is good press."
