The camera body is usually worth less than the lenses - I obviously haven't handled the lens she has but decent glass can sell for over $1000 and retains a fair bit if value of in good condition (the body will eventually be worthless but a good lens can outlive us all and be used on a wide range of cameras with or without an adaptor). She should take it to an actual camera store for a realistic price (which may be the same as the prices given here but at least she'll be selling it in the correct place).

I wish you could coach me man. I’m grinding as a mechanic every day beating my body into pieces. My heart is well re sell I’ve been dumpster diving and refurbishing stuff since I was a kid
@echohunter4199 Жыл бұрын
@@2vcrew782Being a mechanic is a great skill to have, I know you must have an insane amount of specialty tools that you spent years investing in. If you’ve been turning wrenches directly for ten years or more, you may consider some options within your skill set; becoming a service writer where you interact with the customer but this will require some sales skills and a lot of patience to deal with retards like we see in those “just rolled in” videos. You can consider moving to another city where the weather and cost of living is better not to mention an entirely different demographic of people. I’m a retired Army Infantryman and I restore vintage military vehicles, do gun smithing and other small collections. I used to sell small parts at local gun shows where I often traded for some great deals that I later repaired/restored and flipped for a good profit. If you get into reselling, you have to consider how you’ll sell things, starting small with Facebook marketplace and OfferUp is a safe start. The first year will be where you fold in all profits to building inventory but always buy what will sell. Avoid female collectibles like figurines other than some well known names and even then they’ll be expensive at the wholesale level. If you have someone who runs a mini storage, you can get dibs on abandoned units but it’s always “quid pro quo” where you give the person a kick back. As you noticed in these videos, he buys and sells all kinds of stuff but nothing that’ll sit forever. It’ll also mean you get up at 0500 on weekends to hit the flea markets where you constantly walk to find stuff as vendors are setting up to have a first shot at buying but, there’ll be other pickers like you. Always bring a good size carrying bag and flashlight so when you buy something you put it in the bag so nobody can see what you bought because the pickers will always ask where you got it and for how much which is something a man never asks another but they care less. If you’re in Texas, you’ll be competing with people that buy a lot of stuff at the flea markets and takes it to Mexico to resell. You’ll also be dumpster diving your ass off behind shopping centers and again, you’ll likely see others doing the same. But all this can be done if you’re physically able and you have the time to do it. If you stick to guns, it can be frustrating at times but it’s an opportunity if you’re good at it. Hitting toy shows, model train shows and every other imaginable show is a good idea as well since a lot of people sell non-show related items they’re just dumping. For yard sales, choose neighborhoods that are middle class since they always have some good stuff. And the race/economic demographic of that neighborhood will tell you if your chances are good or not. Poorer neighborhoods usually don’t have much in the area of collectibles but they will have some good vintage clothes you might like. Pawn shops are great fishing holes where I’ve scored over the years, if you’re respectful and honest, they’ll work with you on price if it’s been sitting for a while. Pawn shops need inventory to move so anything sitting over a month or two is discounted, they’ll also consider trading with you for things that they can sell, try to hit pawn shops that aren’t chain owned first since their prices and inventory are very different. I used to find USGI body armor at flea markets for $50-$80 then sell/trade for something around $400-$900 but that was when that type of body armor was newer. By leveraging high demand items you can make a bigger profit but always stay within legal bounds so there’s no drama later. And please remember, people always buy on emotion and defend that purchase with logic. Watching a buyers body language will always tell you what you can best get out of a sale. Avoid appearing like a desperate seller because there’s people like me out there that watch body language and know how to hide our body language, sort of like poker players. When someone touches their nose or mouth, they’ve made the decision to buy so once they do that, don’t be afraid to close on the sale! Say “so, are you ready to buy this?” And once you say that sentence, you keep your mouth shut until he speaks! It may be a long time before he speaks but you need to keep quiet. The rule is: “the first person who speaks, loses”. I’ll stop there so good luck on whichever path you choose, the best choices often require the biggest risks.

Top of the line Lenses used to retain their value (her lenses were just standard kit lenses). Not anymore. They come up with updated versions constantly which drives the price down. Camera bodies, forget about it, they depreciate really fast. I love watching your videos. You maintain your composure even when you know they are trying to scam you. You are very honest and give people good deals even when you know you could get more for an item because you know that person really wants that item. I used to like Ebay but their costs to sell have skyrocketed, and that goes for PayPal as well. Those companies are raking in the money.

Wonder how much of rubys food winds up at bottom of cage. I work at a large parrot rescue, and only feed the natural brands of pellets (no colors) in addition we feed much smaller pellets as the larger pellets are a waste because the parrot cracks it in half and half if it winds up being thrown out.

Ugh, why can't people understand that the store needs to make money, too. After they buy an item from someone, they have to double-check the entire item, catalog it, price it and place it out on the floor on Online and wait for a buyer. There's even more but that's a good synopsis. What someone originally paid for it is never part of the equation. "I bought this for $1K." Yeah, well guess what, that was 5 years ago and your item is now out-of-date. Grrrr..............
