I am a hard core researcher of everything and I will admit when I am wrong. Your channel is the best buy and sell youtuber that I have come across. If you were closer, then I would bring some things in. I should bring some things in to my local area but most in my area are asking ridiculous prices probably because they made bad deals in the past and cannot let go of the old times. There is a town not far away from my city that does seem more fair and there is always EBAY. Your channel is real people doing what we are all suppose to be doing. Be real and treat others likewise. Fair and square. If you do not want half of its worth then go sell it yourself or else your business does not make sense with all of the tax, fees, etc. Your channel is also treating others to your thinking cap when it comes to who you hire. Honey, Ruby, Vic, and other team members behind the scenes. Thank you for real deal and an option to what is programming poor folks without knowing it on mainstream TV land. God bless them

My husband was a Navy Seabee and this is a hat they wear everyday with their "greens". Even their working uniform had to be starched and pressed and these hats, no different; he would put the hat on a metal block with screws to tighten the hat/material until it was shaped in that " blocked" style, and he would dip it into a pure starch bath until it was covered. He then would let them dry remove the metal block and then iron it until it was perfection just like the hat you have there. Right above the bill the menwould pin their silver rank insignia. When I saw that hat I had to smile, man, we went through a lot of starch during his 20 year hitch.
@marilynwallace10503 жыл бұрын
I forgot to add that the men put their names on EVERYTHING. Back then you were issued a hat, if you wanted more you had to buy them yourself.

Worked in TV news for awhile. They’re still using tape based drives for cold storage. A lot of industries still use it because it’s much more secure and durable.

How might I obtain recordings from the late 60's from a TV news station in Tampa - WTVT The Pulse- when my dad was an anchorman there?
@johnycane3 жыл бұрын
@@mariagabrielle6383 I’d call the station and ask. Something that old probably wouldn’t be stored digitally, but most likely on film. I worked in the dallas market and one of the local colleges kept an archive of all captured footage and broadcasts back to the very first one.

When I was a kid I remember watching reruns of Gomer Pyle on WGN in Chicago. Gomer was always wearing a U.S. army hat like that one and that show was from the 1960s I believe! Funny how an item can spark a childhood memory and that army hat sure did! I have no idea if they are any older or later than the 60s. Pete, maybe you should do a compilation video of every person who's come into your shop to sell something and then exclaimed, " You're killing me man! " 🤣😂

That was cool with the weights price.. I got a kick out of it. haha. I thought the hat was from the Vietnam War. I see other people comment on it and they would know way more then I would. Early 90's on the computer software and yes people do collect them. Might be a good chunk of change for a whole set. Thanks Pete for the update.

The hat looks very French Gendarmerie, but it isn't one, however it may be the base to a hat, German NSKK officers in WW2 wore a similar style but the holes on the side where higher with those. It is weird it looks familiar and I keep going back to a French style. I think I will go with my gut and say it is the base for a hat still to be finished. EDIT: Found it its an M1951 Ridgeway Cap, used in the Orient with the Korean and Vietnam war.

I was a big fan of kiss when I was 10 years old and now I'm over 50 years old and they did pour a small vial into the red ink. If I was rich I would buy that comic. That was the big seller was that it was printed in blood. Granted it's such a small amount compared to the amount of ink they used to print the comic with.
