Same here. I saw them while at university twice. The first was in 1986, opening for Van Halen. The second was in 1988 on this tour. Both shows were phenomenal! They sounded great. I'd say even better than their records! I haven't seen them in years. 6 ticket prices, I might not get to see them again.

Heart is one of my all time favorite groups. Saw them in concert in 1987 when this album was on the top of the charts. Nancy Wilson came out first and started a long intro guitar solo to Dog and Butterfly. She literally shredded that guitar. Loved the prelude to the song. Wish I could here that again. The concert was amazing and one of the best I have ever been to.

This was off of their BAD ANIMALS album in 1987. The album had the huge hit "Alone" and "Who Will You Run To". This song is a good one with Nancy singing lead. She did one of their biggest hits "These Dreams" as well. But Ann has the chops! This was their last album with most of this band that was with them. At this point, Heart's music was beginning to be very commercial and fans were feeling like the rock driven side of them that we all loved was not there. The guys in the band also wanted to blame Ann because she had gained weight and the videos were trying to cover it using slimming techniques and outfits to hide it. When this album was over Heart headed in a new direction without most of the band.
@Faltor89517 күн бұрын
Ha, a new direction where all six of the songs that charted from Brigade had no songwriting input from Ann and Nancy whatsoever. All I Wanna Do, Stranded, Secret, I didn't Want to Need You, Wild Child and Tall, Dark Handsome Stranger. At least Heart from 1985 had their songwriting input on Never and There's the Girl from this album.

Sadly, this was during the time when Anne's weight was creeping up. The record producers had them shoot their videos in such a way to play up Nancy & only shoot Anne from the neck up. They are both beautiful women and I always favored Anne myself.
@redletter200817 күн бұрын
Yes. They literally had Anne hidden behind some “futuristic” contraption in this video. In “Who Will You Run To?” video, poor Anne is pictured singing in a closet, with light shining through the slats. Very disrespectful for Heart’s real fans.

That's really nice of you J. - even to the trolls in your comments you are nice. You are a CLASS ACT. Another Canadian woman-lead singer group from the 80s to try: Parachute Club - "Rise Up" - esp. on a Sunday, esp. RIGHT now, but any day - a nice upbeat tune *** Even BETTER for a Sunday - (& a Canadian/British female singer) - Sass Jordan - "Make You a Believer" - I am pretty sure you are going to like "Rise Up", but I GUARANTEE you will like "Make You a Believer" For ANY day of the week, or esp. Friday - there is ALSO - (Canadian - yes, we STILL have LOTS to offer) - Alannah Myles - "Black Velvet" - a very different tribute to Elvis that I ALSO know that you will like/love I think that should do nicely for now. 😉 Take care, J.

This & SO BAD by them are my fave songs of theirs (you need to check that one out J). I always related this in another way - as a hopeless romantic in general falling in love w/someone who I knew was out of my depths and/or not reciprocative to my love - it sucks but it's true. It's just an awesome song and always makes me melancholic.
