The first booth was merchandised by color, not product. It was much more fun and inviting. People shop first with their eyes. My first store manager used to say it has to be “ easy on the eye” to draw people in. I have used that as my rule of thumb ever since and it has never failed me!

You can tell they've been raised around fragile things and to be cautious and respectful with them. Meanwhile, my stepchildren were throwing their teddy bears at my Christmas tree with heirloom ornaments, not giving a care in the world, when they were 9 and 10. I literally had to keep anything fragile that I owned at my parents' house until they moved out!

You need an Air Tag on your keys so Laurel doesn't lose them. Best money you will ever spend. We put one on our cat who has this habit of hiding and not turning up for days. She has hiding places all over the house. Now we just beep her!

I cringe initially when I see kids at antique malls. Then I remember my three brothers and I spent hours at thrift stores , antique malls, used book stores and pawn shops. Some of my favourite memories involve these places. I took my now grown daughter thrifting and have passed the thrift bug on to her and her family. Your kids are lucky to see so many unique things and go places other than the mall.
