To me it's a retelling of a short story from 1977, called The screwfly solution. Masters of Horror did it back in 2006. It's on Freevee and Tubi if you want to see it for free.

@@drjekelmrhyde The main difference in "The Screwfly Solution" is that the victims are not other men. But it still makes men out to be beasts at heart. At least in "The Screwfly Solution" it wasn't the men's fault. Of course it also made out the military brass to be total idiots who would not take the drug needed to keep them from being affected. Apparently most all other men wouldn't take it either which also makes zero sense when the fate of the human race is at stake. The usual stupid plot. This one is worse in that it does the same by making out men as being naturally violent and just need an excuse to turn it loose on each other.

I don’t see anything political in this episode, I guess I could see the metaphor and why they used men instead of women, but damn the episode is about meteorites hitting earth and turning “men to monsters” and y’all are talking bout politics? Maybe if you watched this from a sci-fi perspective instead of comparing the metaphorical sexist factors into it, you would like this. I see this episode as men and women are completely different beasts and the chaos that could occur if one had complete control. Same old sexist garbage all these sorts of stories are. Men fundamentally bad, women fundamentally good/victims. I think the writers of this crap must share the same brain since they all write it much the same way. I recall another new Twilight Zone episode in which there were only women running things but some men were in suspended animation. They revived one and the writer manipulated it the usual way having him be a Marine who saw inequities in the women's society and tried to do something about it by recruiting a few woman who thought the same way to help. Violence ensued and the women decided men were bad and murdered him. Of course it was a Warrior that was revived and not a librarian or some such and decided to judge all men based on him. Have to wonder, what if it was a gung-ho female Marine they revived who did the same thing? Would they then decide all women were bad because of her? Kill off themselves? Not damn likely, but the writer had no problem having them decide the fate of all men based on just one. That's also why the writer wrote the story such that the man would be a Marine. So as to have an excuse for the story to go as it did. Typical sexist attitude from a typical writer of this sort of steaming pile.
