What they clearly bend back towards the school. Now I haven't been one swing in years but I'm pretty sure you bend legs back at the knee when going backwards and straighten them when going forwards. Also you can see her hood behind her head

I can see both directions and they seem both totally fine, the limbs are obscured in a way where you can't make out the correct bend. Though look at the empty seats to the left in the video and tell me how they are lit up and what would make sense now..

@@jxnnffxr The reason its non-obvious is because its a natural optimical illusion. The legs only give it away because of the way you are viewing it. It looks good both directions. The trick is that some people see her as farther from the camera when she is more to the left (and in this case she seems to be facing away from the camera) and other people such as yourself see her as farther from the camera when she is more to the right, (which makes her seem like shes facing towards the camera). Had to look at it for awhile myself to see it both ways. So, no hostilitity intended, but its not obvious because its a bit of an optical illusion. That said, unlike an optimical illusion, there is a correct answer and she is indeed facing the camera. But one can see how at first glance people might see it the other way.

@jxnnffxr I have seen both sides argue the knee thing, it looks correct either way to me to be honest. If it didn't, I really doubt there'd be much debate over this. So with all the respect in the world, it isn't perhaps that obvious, especially when so many here absolutely insist that the anatomy couldn't work the way opposite to the one they're arguing - which only means it's a good optical illusion, and nothing worth falling out over . 👍

When you swing forward on a swing, your legs kick out forward. When you swing back, you TRY to swing your legs back. She is also wearing a jacket with a hood that has fallen behind her. Or it’s a backpack. If it’s her hood, then it makes sense that it bunches up as much as it does when the wind from her swinging pushes it closed. She is facing the school. The bars on the side also are the ends of the swing anchoring it all to the ground; they are situated in a way that indicates the angle of the swing set. When she swings towards the school with her legs forward, the chains from the other swing overlap.

the way I forced my brain to see her swinging forward is covering the right side of the swing set next to the kid, then looking at the legs of the swing set and notice how the swing set is facing. Then imagine the arc of the swing where the kid swings from back right to front left.

If she is facing the school, her hood, legs, and feet would be on backwards (painful). The only way that isn't possible is if she's swinging diagonal, rotating perfectly in line with the camera's sight, and not hitting the frame of the swingset, which due to physics and momentum isn't possible. I also have some pictures that prove they are facing the camera, but KZbin won't allow me to paste them.

She is indeed, 100% facing the camera, the swing set is placed a little wonky compared to the direction of the camera (basically not perfectly perpendicular) and whenever she is swinging her hair goes up when she does on the left side and her hood obstructs her hair on the right and her body blocks the rest of the hood on the left, as for the knees I know it's hard to see but we would be seeing the bottom of their shoes but instead we see the tops of them with the hill closer to the camera blocking the lowest apex of her swing, sorry for the paragraph I got stuck on this for a while

When you have a basic understanding of human anatomy it's painfully clear it's impossible to make an optical illusion out of this. I can clearly see the back of her head, the hood on the back of her jacket facing the camera. Her limbs are all bending towards the school. You can clearly see her raise her arms up and bent and the elbows as well as her legs kicking up towards the building away from the camera. If she was facing the camera then her hair is in front of her face, her jacket is on backwards, and she's broken every bone in her body to be able to make her limbs bend in the complete opposite direction. That is clearly her back towards the camera, there is no way to see that as her facing the camera. If the swing were empty the optical illusion would work but with a person in the picture the human body can only bend in one direction.

Or she might be facing towqrds the camera andled towards our left again. Both ways work. People think that if she is facing tbe camera she must be angled towards the right.
