Because with these types of people, the main event is not what they're interested in, its the manipulation and getting people through the door in the hopes of personal time, that they really want. They hide behind the facade of "we're doing this" when they want to do something quite different. Because they can't cope with having or expressing needs.

You are incorrect. These things are things we inherently know. As a 3 year old I was molested ONCE but i knew it is not right. I knew it is bad so I NEVER told anybody until I was in my 30s. The people who have these ideas like you do, have never had these experiences and just talk about things they don't understand and have not experienced it themselves. Worse is, they try to force their uneducated opinions onto others. As a parent, NO I don't want my kid to learn about these stuff at school until AT LEAST 16 years old.

@@nbeizaie I'm going to share my own anecdotal evidence that contradicts your point. I was taken advantage of by a teen neighbor at the age of six. Specifically they coerced me to give them oral sex. My parents never talked to me about anything like that, so, even though I felt like it was wrong at the time, I didn't have any of the language to tell anyone about it. In fact, I felt shame because I assumed it was my fault. That was because I didn't know anything about what had happened or how society views such a thing. Had my parents or school explicitly taught me about my bodily autonomy, consent, sexuality, etc., I probably would have told someone about it. I probably wouldn't have kept it to myself and had the issues around it manifest in ways I didn't know how to handle. As a person who was sexually abused as a child, YES I want my kid to learn "about these stuff" at school as early as they can actually understand (maybe 2nd grade?) to prevent such things from happening to other kids.

“I asked Tim to contend with the fact that teaching sex-ed early prevents children from being groomed. But he just moved on.” Well yeah. He doesn’t want to give away the game. He also doesn’t criticize the Catholic Church proportionally to their grooming. Edit: a comment got deleted that pointed out; Tim also ignores republicans & their campaign to lower age-of-consent. Tim does NOT care about protecting child, or he would criticize republicans for their disgusting support of child marriage legalization.

@@lawrence208 honestly man they’re gonna be doing it anyway. sex education SHOULD have some information about how to actually enjoy sex. there is an emotional, sensational component, which is not properly covered in a classroom setting- and it shouldn’t be! learning about this stuff privately, through a book that you can put down at any time, is a lot safer. it’s safer than trying to figure it out on the fly. when i was in middle school, i learned much of this stuff from internet forums. that was NOT a safe place to learn. i wish i had been given a book so that i could explore these feelings at my own pace. they’re kids but they’re still people. they have these feelings and they want to learn about it. you are not going to STOP THEM from learning about it, so providing the safest possible educational material should be a priority. that seems obvious to me, honestly.

He invites a single progressive-leaning guest on, he and one of his loser friends prepare notes on a few dozen dubious examples of some issue Boomers are mad about this week (hence why they're always looking at a laptop), and that someone who isn't addicted to right wing media probably doesn't know/care about, and when the guest tries to turn the topic of "conversation" to a more relevant issue, they ignore it and go back to their prepared talking points.

I also read Night in 8th grade. Yes, it was gruesome, because the holocaust was fucking gruesome. My English teacher was a Jew, and her grandfather survived the holocaust. After we finished the book, he came to class and showed us his tattoo and talked about his own experience. Then we went on a field trip to the museum of tolerance. It was a very depressing, but amazing, unit. When youre like 12, youve heard of the holocaust and probably think it was bad, but its nebulous. Reading Night and meeting Mr. Filowitz helped my classmates and I to see the true horror from a more human perspective.

Though he still pushes leftist ideology from time to time although it's got to clear with how much he calls out the corruption of the FBI and government officials that the corruption that is is simply the nature of the state. I could make the argument as to how they've added to the decline of America but I don't see how you could make that argument when Sam Seder has literally said inflation is because of supply chain management issues. It's been years. That has to have been cleared up by now and instead of prices going back to what they were in 2019 people are supposed to be with inflation slowing at over 3%. I distinctly remember watching the 'Chester the cat' video (weird choice of name btw wtf was that) and thinking, "Too late now!" *_at TEN years old._* Part of the reason abusers go after such young children IS BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW. Nobody who cares about their kids is disagreeing with sex ed
@SteveGellerMusic
@SteveGellerMusic 8 ай бұрын
I think "Chester the Cat" is probably supposed to pay homage to the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland (but she didn't want to use that exact character), and that is based upon the supposed idea of cats grinning in Cheshire, England because of all of the milk and cheese factories there. I doubt that she intended people to associate "Chester" with "(you know)" when they heard the name.

Even if that mischaracterization is true, I don’t think it’s inappropriate for teenagers to know what gay dating culture is like. This kind of education protects children from abusers when they are kids and ensures safe habits in their adulthoods.

Tim is the very embodiment of performative. He LARPS as an intellectual, using big words like "praxis" as if he's ever finished a university degree. Isn't he a high school dropout, actually? And just like a LARPer, swinging a plastic sword is all he can really do. But a LARPer would never go online or on television and try to convince the world that he really is a barbarian or whatever. Tim, however, is constantly trying to convince the world that he is some kind of genius intellectual yet also ever an everyman. And so he surrounds himself with weak-willed yes-men who will never challenge him, and if they do, he expels them. And when someone does challenge him, he takes it so freaking personally, because he knows deep inside his entire persona is nothing but performative. He lacks any of the prerequisite wit, intellect, knowledge and experience to back it up.

not just that, the book is basically a crash-course sex-ed for gay people since schools only give hetero sex-ed, so basically Tim's argument is that hetero sex-ed is okay, but gay sex-ed is grooming.
