As we left Kalinga we headed to beautiful Sagada in the Mountain Province so my Hungarian Sister could experience this beautiful and unique town of the Philippines for the first time. As Exploring the arra we even made time for her to try the famous mom's / nganga or betel nut which is highly popular in the area! Seeing her reactions was a real laughtrip!

We call it mama here in our place. There's another one we call mascada,which is rolled tobacco leaves which old people usually chew on. For some old local custom,spit from chewing MoMA is applied onto a newborn babies tummy to prevent hiccups.

It's hard like a rock and has a bitter taste. Elder folks in Northern Luzon highlands and Ilocos chew that usually after meals. That lemon pie looks good and that vegan lumpia was huge just one serving of that would be enough for me. Did you try etag? You and Fanni should try it if you feel adventurous.

It's definitely more difficult to travel with pets, kind of like having a baby with us. We need to make sure the accommodations and activities are pet friendly and that she's not too tired / drinks and eats enough. But she's part of the family so it's worth it as she makes our travels more fun. 😊❤️
