Why does this sound like the sand people theme from Star Wars XD

Fortunately, everything is heard exactly as it appears on the score. Unfortunately, nothing more. It would be nice to hear some of Tomasz in this performance.

Was this performed/filmed at Woolsey Hall, by chance? The stage looks familiar.

What mallets are you using for the first half? And what did you use to make the mallets for the soft section in the second half?

12 mins of playing off of (5) half sheets of music. No one turning pages and i didnt hear or notice any patterns repeating. Hmmmm ?

+dwdrumwiz You're right. I bet he used auto-tune!

Lots of repeating patterns... you'd be surprised at how much music percussionists can fit on a board so page turns aren't needed. But if you are implying cut and paste, that is norm. Especially for multi cam video. It's really expensive to pay someone to edit together multiple cameras worth of video, but if you story board ahead of time, plan the cuts, and then rep each section based on the angle, you save a lot of money on editing time. It also gives the audio tech a lot more control.

The music is 5 pages, that's how much he has on the board. It's visible during the final part of the piece when he's playing marimba.

it seems like a bit senseless with melody around.....but amazingly performed

terrible. no rhythmic pattern at all, no repetition lasting longer than 5 beats. the title should be "Someone randomly beating the path"
