I have a collection of over 100 pens, including a Sheaffer with the old fashioned snorkel. When I acquired the Legacy version (silver with gold trim) I apparently was too ignorant to operate the plunger mechanism correctly. I'm accustomed to screwing a knob to draw ink into some of my pens and I couldn't figure out how it was possible that this PFM would fill by merely pushing that plunger down while holding the nib in the ink. It wasn't until I saw this video that I saw how to fill it but I still don't understand how depressing the plunger quickly (no doubt creating air) is somehow drawing ink up into the pen to fill it (through suction? That seems counter-intuitive). I've had this pen put away for years and just got it out today and decided to search KZbin and found your video. I bought it for everyday use in lieu of my Waterman Edson which was too expensive.Thanks for enlightening me!

My Sheaffer is old and actually does have the little tube that comes out of the pen. I had no clue how to fill it until this vid, so thanks

I have a model 854. Gorgeous. Can they be opened? I mean can the feed and the nib be taken out for cleaning and service?

Hello. Is there any converter that is compatible and can be used in a Sheaffer Legacy I / Legacy II fountain pen? As far as I know, the Sheaffer 96700 converter isn't compatible with the Legacy I / Legacy II models (it only is with the Legacy Heritage because this model lacks the internal mechanism of the Touchdown filler). Thanks.

As far as i am aware the standard Sheaffer squeeze converter should work fine. Good luck.

Hello sir. Today it was offered to me a mint example of this sheaffer legacy 2, just like the one in this video. It was only inked once with a sheaffer cartridge for testing, the converter filling system was not used. The nib is also an F. The only difference is the box, the one I have is not like the one in the video, it seems to be a more recent box, so I think when it was bought they changed it at the store. Could you please tell what is the value of a pen like these? Thank you, very nice video!
