Henry to me is the best player to have played in the premier league. His solo goals against Liverpool and Tottenham. His many individual moments of brilliance, his leadership, pace, dribbling, free kicks, finishes, goal scoring, assists and big match performances. The unbeaten season run remember how dominating the Arsenal team used to be.

Henry wins because he was a match for the other two at goalscoring, but was also a better creator. the 02-03 season typifies this. 37 games, 24 goals, 20 assists... that's just outrageous. Shearer is second, at his peak he was a better goalscorer than either Henry or Aguero, but not as good at link-up play. it's also worth noting that he scored so many goals playing for Newcastle, not Arsenal or Man City with their comparatively vast resources and squads and their respective three PL titles each. Aguero is a distant third. still a fantastic player obviously, but not in the league of these two by a decent distance.

Without a doubt Shearer. Pre-injuries and Kenny Dalglish dismantling the Entertainers, Alan Shearer scored 112 in 138 games for Blackburn Rovers, he then went on to score 25 goals in 31 games in his first season at Newcastle. For me it is no contest.

Kyrell Miller In terms of goal scoring ability I’d say Cristiano Ronaldo, Lewandowski or Luis Suarez because they can certainly strike a ball but in terms of technical ability and intelligence I’d say Antoine Griezmann or Mbappe

If henry was the greatest striker ever you'd imagine hed get even close to Shearers record. Everyone forgets all the free kicks and goals outside the box, and pinpoint crosses Beckham would be proud of and the hold up play on his own against 2 or 3 players and he keeps the ball every time till team mates arrive. He's also the coolest player under pressure, and never got nervous. Lastly he's one of the greatest penalty takers ever. He missed 2 in his whole life. He had 3 major injuries, he said himself he was probably out for 3.5 seasons of his prime. He played in a far worse team than Henry and Henry still couldn't come anywhere near him. It blows my mind to think how quickly they forget how good Shearer was. Also its unfair because Owen and Jenas were never going to pick Shearer ever.

To watch? Henry. To score goals and win games? Shearer all day. Not a debate. As great as the other two were/are they are not in shearers league in terms of efficient players/ goalscorers. Shearer turned up every game. Henry was spectactular within a certain system (could not play centre forward or in tight areas when needed) and both aguero and henry havent/didnt do a lot in europe. Imagine if shearer had signed for United or Arsenal, how many goals would he have? Arsenal may have won a CL.

@@jpaul5575 exactly. They are the ONLY examples. And he wasnt that great against madrid, just scored that goal. Im not knocking him, im a big henry fan and purely on PL form I'd have him maybe just ahead of rooney in my all timeXI with shearer. But people tend to go over the top with certain players, especially those with flair. Henry was a product of Wengers genius. He wasnt a great finisher (he was good but not great) and couldnt play in tight areas so wenger created a system that catered completely to utilising henry's pace and flair. That arsenal side were amazing and should have won the CL but for Henry (and others) going missing when it mattered. Shearer could score goals and be a handful in any game, playing any system and thats the mark of a true great.

Henry by a distance! He scores goals, pass, defender, free kick goals, leader on the pitch very complete player and playing beautiful football. And the most important England player in premier league for me is Lampard, his numbers are amazing better than Gerrard, 2004 or 2005 he is the second best player in the world, two champions league finals champion in 2012, many times on quarter finals of champions league, I prefer Gerrard but I admit Lampard is better on England and Europe.

Thierry Henry was greatest striker he won 4 golden boots in premier league. Second best would be Sergio Aguero he's done it in 2 leagues compared to Shearer. For Atletico Madrid he scored 74 la liga goals and for Man City Aguero scored 157 premier league goals. In total Aguero's scored 231 league goals in his career 30 goals short of Shearer's 260 premier league goals. Of course 2 Liverpool players Owen and Fowler are gonna pick Steven Gerrard over Frank Lampard for greatest English player. Lampard was the greatest he's highest goalscoring midfielder in premier league history with 177 premier league goals. Lampard is in premier leagues top 5 highest goalscorers.
