So many choices for non air integrated dive computers. How does the Shearwater Peregrine stack up? Freddy was one of the first to review the Shearwater Peregrine Dive Computer

Shearwater needs to step up their Cloud game a bit and provide "Partner" integration so that your recorded dives will automatically show up in PADI dive logs area and/or other certification orgs. Take how bike computers do this, sending ride data to Garmin, Strava, and many more partners automatically.

I agree, but it is a slow progress. It is coming however. Thanks for watching. More to come soon. Freddy

I'm just getting into diving, taking my open water course in June. And I will say of all the dive computers I've looked at shearwater definitely has a leg up on the competition. The peregrine is definitely my next purchase after my regulator set.

Very but very inspirational informative and easu educational teaching approach. This video sells the computer by itself no fake. I can use this for my classes. Thank you so much. Going from garmin to shearwater allright!

thanks for this unique and full of information video..is it suitable for divemasters ?
@coralkeyscuba
@coralkeyscuba Жыл бұрын
Sorry, I missed this question. Yes, although divemaster's usually like a bit more technical information available to them. Example would be an air integrated computer that has a more accurate depiction of actual consumption. Or monitoring numerous students air but on your computer. Thanks for watching. Freddy.

a good diver knows his air consumption and therefore does not need IA at all
@coralkeyscuba

I agree completely Rob. In the Navy we didn't have diver computers at all. We used dive tables, watches and our guages. Now, most divers couldn't use tables to figure out multiple dives. A computer makes it convenient and easy. If it actually knows your consumption rate, all the better. Thanks for watching Rob. More to come soon. Freddy

@@coralkeyscuba tables are good but they have several downsides that put an end to their use. It wasn't convenience or reduced bottom time that killed them off, but their inability to handle gas switches. If you're diving hypoxic trimix, you can't be breathing that above a certain depth or you'll risk blackout and death. But tables won't allow you to switch gas at all. Pressure groups can't be transferred between tables for different gasses. And tables would never work with constant ppo2 rebreathers, and accounting for helium saturation as well, diving beyond the limits of NDLs requires computers. If you're diving without them you're taking a slide rule down and a massive slate to determine tissue compartment saturation half lives.

@@tolga1cool why spend money on something you don't need?

@@robdahler9682 It makes the dive easier and safer. You don't technically nee it for diving though. You could technically make do with a depth gauge, timer and a table. But why should you?

Your pressure gauge is always air integrated isn't it? The standard for most of diving history. As long as you are safe, I am happy. Thanks for watching. Freddy

Yeah, I know. We got it the first week and created the review but transitioned over from 5280 scuba to Leviathan scuba. Had it available to private viewers until everything was completed with Leviathan Scuba. You should see quite a few more videos coming out soon. Already scheduled until November. Thanks for the feedback.

I’m sorry. All that and you say it’s a beginner computer is a bit much . This is a slimmed down version of some of the best technical computers available. It’s literally all the computer most Rec divers will ever need and more. AI is a nice want but not a requirement
