Damn, 24 dives for a review is no joke. Quality work!

Thanks for the video James. I watched it last summer when I purchased the Peregrine and found your video to be instructive. Today I did a beach dive, long walk, found a beach shower did a ‘rinse’ of my gear and more of a long walk. When I went to download my dive the computer wouldn’t turn on and I was like…Grrrr. But your final comments had stuck with me of warm water rinse. Had you not shared your knowledge and experience I’d have thrown a tantrum about my relatively new computer going TU. I still dive my console with my original Aeries Pro hockey puck that doesn’t date adjust beyond 2012 (hey it still works) but the warm water soak for ten minutes fixed the issue and I will continue to give the TLC recommended.

Hey James, just got my OW on Sept 8th, including my course, I have 11 logged dives so far. A Zoop Novo came in the console of the used reg set I purchased (Hollis DCX, LX200) but I always wanted a "new" computer. (my course was supposed to start last April, but pandemics happen) I purchased my regs back in March. Always loved the idea of a Shearwater, as my primary computer. I jumped at the Peregrine when I saw it. Dive 3 on it was yesterday. The vibration alert worked great through my dry suit and was very easy to address with my dry gloves on. My Peregrine is currently sitting in a bucket of warm water, thanks for that tip. I turned 59, last Saturday, and my old man eyes love the big screen. There will only be recreational diving in my future, so this will be my primary, until, hopefully an AI model comes out. Time will tell if that comes to fruition, or I get a Perdix AI. I am on Vancouver Island, so Shearwater is very much a local business for me, one ferry ride away. I hope to dive, 2-4 times a week, as shore diving here is fantastic. You have been a big source of info for me since last March. Thanks for what you do.

I'm about your age. I boosted the screen to full brightness. Very easy to read. Doesn't this computer almost seem to scold you if you're messing up? Fine, a current caught me and I went up too fast. The up arrows go red and my wrist buzzes! Ok ok!

Best reviews on youtube. FINALLY a proper review instead of a “I think it does this, it has this feature”.....”review”. Many thanks James. Hopefully I’m lucky enough to win this bad boy and some of that divers ready swag! Cheers, and dive safe.

I found your channel because I recognized the adventure outfitters shop that you visited! I will be doing my open water certification through them at the end of this month (October) so it was great to see them on here! They are great people! This computer would be great for me as I am a beginner and haven’t purchased one yet! My boyfriend and I will be diving in Kenya this Christmas so it would be great to have! Thanks for all of your informative videos, alway appreciate transparency :)

Enjoy watching your reviews and videos in general... I actually missed you by about a week when I went to visit family in Florida, ended up visiting that dive shop in Tampa. Was really cool to talk with them and they are super friendly and responsive!! I messaged them late one night and expected a response the next day, and they replied within about 30 minutes.

I am new to the diving community residing in California, I'm still learning and trying to put together a gear list that will best suit my journey as an entry level open water diver. eventually I would like to teach other people about diving and get them to dive and enjoy the beautiful world that diving opens up for us as a diver. I was blessed to have been able to get certified in Okinawa Japan during through a PADI instructor whom is also a USMC officer. I had a blast and didn't even want to leave, it was so peaceful being in the water not having to worry about anything except gas in the tank lol.

Nice, this is so much more valuable than the "hands" reviews as you put it (other than the obvious value of getting a feel for something by watching someone fiddle with it). I just got a Teric, but I'm sure some of my buddies will appreciate the upgrade, I'm directing them here. Thanks James :)

The alarm vibration function is a "must have" for people with hearing impairments. When I started diving I didn't realize I had some hearing loss in some frequencies and one frequency happened to be the one used by my i300C computer. My dive buddy heard my alarm and saw I wasn't reacting so he engaged. I've been eyeballing my computer like a green diver ever since so getting vibration alerts could, quite literally, be a life saver.

Really nice review - solid and in depth. I fairly new to diving and have just bought one for myself and one for my wife - replacing our Zoop Novo's. Purely rec diving and as I need reading glasses I do hope to improve the readability of this computer due to the clear colorfull screen over the grey Zoom novo screen. diving both dry and wet suit in Scandinavia... and plan to take it into warm water later next year - If COVID-19 lets us. Thank you James for the review. This is the first major piece of kit I've purchased after getting certified as a Scuba diver outside of the fins, mask, snorkel, boots and gloves needed for my cert classes and the DSMB that came with my learning materials. I also want to thank #askmark from Simply Scuba for the comparison against the Aqualung i330R. It really helped me make the choice between the two models. Being a Canadian living in California, a company from BC edged ahead with the hepatic alerts. #Askshawn I'm sorry I couldn't bring myself to buy the Teric just yet. I look forward to diving with it next month when I dive in Monterey, CA. To show love fort the work you do James, I purchased from your affiliate link. -Cory Huynh
