The SCREEN is 1.39" across on the Teric and 1.3" on the Tern. The case diameter is a lot bigger. That's 55mm on the Teric and 50mm on the Tern. The Tern is still a chunky watch for everyday wear. With the screen size reduction also comes a reduction in the resolution. From 400x400 on the Teric to 360x360 on the Tern, but as far as I can tell from the manual it maintains the same customizability as the Teric. Also nice to know that the Tern Tx & Transmitter pack still contains separate EVA cases for both the watch and the transmitter. They just come in a single box.

At 9:20, the reason for the screen protector is because Shearwater didn't use a sapphire crystal on the Tern. The Teric has a sapphire crystal, and doesn't need a screen protector because there's nothing on earth outside of diamonds etc. that will scratch it. Why didn't Shearwater use a sapphire crystal on the Tern? Only they know. Cost is no excuse, as there are plenty of very cheap ($100) wristwatches that use sapphire crystals.

Hi Bob! I have an unrelated question regarding the Axiom BCD... I felt in love with the BCD with your videos and was planning to buy it, but now I'm worried about Aqualung's current situation... Would you still recommend to buy an Axiom now, or wait a little/see alternatives? I'm mostly worried about warranty/parts availability if anything fails/suspect that products could come with lower quality so they can save some money... Any inputs would be amazing to avoid making a bad decision! Thanks a lot!!

This is a fair enough question SSVV and not trying to be funny but no crystal ball in my closet. Lots of stories going around and some may be a bit blown out of true context for AQL. I don't have skin in that game but seemed they are moving to fix their issues. I really doubt that the Axiom would be a casualty from what's going on. In reality, I've been an Axiom diver pretty much since they became available. No issues here, I also spoke to our service department and other than the service needed on the I-3 version we just don't get them in for problems. I've owned 3 over the past 9 years, one being the I-3 and just don't have issues. Over these years, I usually am diving 42 weeks or 52, and pool work added to that. If someone was going to have issues I think it'd been me. Just do your rinses inside and out, don't dive over-weighted and store in a cool dry environment if at all possible. I have seen where one owner tried to claim a warranty issue on one, but it was pretty obvious that he had dropped something on the BC that caused the damage. I just bought a 2023 Axiom ( I do not get them for free ) and am confident in spending my hard earned $$. Regards, Bob C

I really want to have an Axiom due to my back, but where I'm based (Chile) it's a little difficult to know the reality of Aqualung's operations right now. A follow up in case you could ... seeing the size chart, I'm probably a size M, and I have only two options here... get a normal Axiom size ML one week from now, or get an Axiom 2023 size M in three weeks (at a 2-3x price of the normal). Do you think an ML would fit me well with a 7mm wetsuit if I'm: 5'7'' Height 170lb (but going down, I was 180 a couple months ago and goal is 162) 37-38 Waist 44-45 Shoulder A yes/no answer if the ML will fit me well would be the only thing I need, I don't want to take more time off you... I would personally would prefer to see a peregrine watch with AI, rather than another small watch style new product. I do own the Teric and the short battery plus small display just don’t do it for me so much.

Since cost isn't an issue for you (you have the Teric) why not just get the Perdix or even the Petrel? Because they're not rechargeable?

I own a regular peregrine, and the battery life is incredible, but I wanted to try a small computer, so got the tern tx, have not dived it yet. When you say the battery life on the teric isn’t good, how many dives can it do before needing a charge?

@@chinovillanueva8630 you need to charge it every other day. It will loose 20 percent a day just standing with compass off. It totally diffract than the peregrine. It’s a constant bother.
