BEST DIMASH PERFORMANCE EVER! Reaction

Thank you for your enthusiastic reaction. This was the second performance of The Singer competition in 2017. The man who raises his fist in the air at the end is Dimash’s father. He came from Kazakhstan to support his son. However, Dimash knew nothing about it when he performed. I think it was very difficult for him at the beginning. You have to imagine, until this competition in China in 2017 he never was alone. Dimash, like many other Kazakhs, has the tradition of living under one roof with the whole family all together. He lives with his grandparents, parents, a sister, a brother an other relatives in the same house. And now he had to go to China alone, didn‘t know the country, didn‘t know the language, didn‘t know the traditions or livestyle in this country and up to that point he spoke (almost) no English, except maybe „Thank you“ and „My name is Dimash“. Only one interpreter came along and that at the age of 22. He was almost a kid to me then (my son is 19 so I can imagine…). And after that performance he saw his dad. Indescribably beautyful and emotional. During the Opera 2 performance, he flirted with the audience in a way that wasn’t really his style/habit at the time (fortunately that has changed in the meantime). And afterwards he said that he was really uncomfortable that his father saw him like that🤭. Luckily he didn’t find out until afterwards because I love it when he’s like that on stage🥰. The song "Opera-2" was written in 2003 by the Russian singer Vitas. He wrote this song when he was in a state of deep depression, so Vitas performed this song in such a way that it was clear to the listeners that the person was suffering. Dimash sang this song in a completely different way. Listening to Dimash, it is clear that this is a man reflecting on his life, left alone in an empty house, looking out the window in the early morning, where everything is covered with fog after a night thunderstorm. There is nothing sad about Dimash's performance. The most interesting thing began after Vitas heard this performance of the song! He was insulted to the core! After all, Dimash was able to sing the song itself half a tone higher, sang in a completely different key, at the end sang vocalise TWO NOTES HIGHER than Vitas can! And the most insulting thing for Vitas is that Dimash did not ask permission to perform the song at the contest!!! Although, as far as I know, no permission is required to perform any song by any author at the contest at all! But Vitas officially BANNED Dimash from performing any of Vitas' songs... Resentment? Envy? Jealousy? It's hard to understand.

It's 3:37am as I am watching you see this for the first time and I am laughing hysterically. I knew what was coming and you had no idea, it was priceless. However, my laughing triggered 3 different muscle cramps that hurt so bad, but I couldn't stop laughing. O.K. it's taken 20 minutes of long slow massaging those spots but the cramps have eased off. Carlie I'm giving you a video of the same performance but with more scenes from the green room and his fellow performers reactions. Also it shows the moment when Dimash realizes his father made it to see him sing. He wasn't supposed to be there as his work was to carry him too late in the day to make the last plane out of Astana. Then there was the weather. Well it all worked out and dad was there to see his son destroy the audience with his spectacular version of this song. Thanks for your reaction and support of Dimash. russian songs have kind of a vibe (maybe only to me) that is bitter-sweet. as a kazakh, dimash can speak and sing in russian in perfect but he clearly can sing in alien too. as you just witnessed.

The reason he did those stops in the third modulation is for the critics who said he was lip-syncing those opera parts. The other thing he will do show he was singing it live is to wave the mic back and forth in front of his mouth so you can hear his vocal fade in and out of volume. The man they kept showing with the red lanyard around his neck is Dimash's dad. You might want to show this video so others are aware this is available. It's up to you, or what they will allow you to do.

this is from the Singer 2017, it was his 2nd performance. First being SOS. There are a total of about 10 performances from that show. Also, he did a guest performance on the Singer 2018 where he sang the hell out of Lionel Richies "Hello". worth a look.

There is tv footage of when Dimash was younger, he appeared on a show where the compères wrote different funny words to the opera 2 song and asked Dimash to sing them on the spot. One of the lines is about a girl in high heels stepping on his Toes and what would he sing - aaaaaaaaaaaah aaaaaah. Dimash doubles up with laughter but he still sang the words.

This is from the Chinese show I Am Singer 2017, a competition show for established singers and Dimash was invited as a wildcard (the first foreign singer). This was the 2nd weeks performance. Original singer and creator Vitas' song. Dimash was only 22 at the time. First song was SOS, which blew everyone's mind.

This was a great performance by Dimash but wait till you see his performance at Shine Brothers The Youku show. His Strangers performance there is unreal. He does some things there with his voice that are are not from this Earth.

This song was written by the Russian singer known as "Vitas". Vitas is equally skilled in going up the scales, though I don't think he has the same vocal range as Dimash. Maybe you should react to Vitas' Opera#2.

This is the "I Am Singer" contest in China in 2017, at which he came in 2nd (politics). It was this contest that brought Dimash to the rests of the world. The writer of this song sued (because Dimash sang it better than Vitas, the original singer), so Dimash can't sing this anymore. Vitas es un gran artista, pero sinceramente para mi Dimash es mucho mejor; su introducción es dulce y simpática, mientras que la de Vitas es más plana. Great reaction, I don't think it's his best performance, of course he sang this song perfectly( onset, control, full resonance, relaxed approach of singing, vibrato, breath control, appassionato) generally every performance from him is phenomenal but there is better ones ( vocally& technically, as a song) for example his new Spanish song, ave maria, stranger, ogni pietra, story of one sky, sos.
