I have to be honest. I understand the power and beauty of this song. It us my favorite also. But Ren is describing the actual memory of lying on the kitchen floor clawing at it in pain before he fell into psychosis. This is that window into his reality. Indeed, he transmuted it into a thing of beauty, bur I couldn't watch past the begining. It puts me into a much more raw, vulnerable and emotional space. I just watched Ren's interview with Zach Sang where he cried talking about the feeling of being tortured.

I gotta see that interview. I have to block out some of the feels I get from Ren when I do reactions or Livestreams to keep it professional but I can honestly say Ren makes me a mess sometimes

It's interesting watching you react because you are deep into the musical side and when I watched I was deep into the lyrics. I watched this almost in tears the 1st time because I could see Ren on the floor dragging himself. When I stopped listening to lyrics and switched to music, it was so upbeat. I love that Ren can do both things in the same song. It's a bit bipolar really...lol.

Wow. Thank you. I was glad I waited to hear this song and do it on the livestream. I really got hit in the face with it. And now after lots of listens, those lyrics are insane. Ren is on a level that I don't think mainstream music can even fathom

His truths of his life flow directly into us. Btw.. Ren is also almost single-handedly bringing back incredible, interesting, enjoyable music videos! Kudos on that!! Ren produces his own art as well. He's impressive --- As well as very enjoyable to listen to. He's managed to make music exciting for me again!

This song is next level. It shows an evolution of writing for Ren. Since almost all of the rest of the album was written a couple of years ago, and this was written this year leading up to completion of the album, Ren has grown as a song writer and producer. Obviously the whole album is phenomenal, take nothing away from that, but “Seven Sins” is a master class in writing, production, lyricism, etc.

There is something to say about listening to a story of unimaginable pain and the listener is smiling, hand dancing and not paying attention to the hell that is being described. I made it about 3 and half minutes in to this before stoping.

I explain so often in my videos that it is very hard to listen to just catchy and uplifting music but also feel the deep heavy lyrics. It’s not as “easy” as you think. Plus if I had done what you wanted then someone else would’ve said “wow this was such a catchy song and you didn’t even dance to it or seem like you liked it” Can’t please everyone so might as well do what I want. You don’t know a person after 3 1/5 mins but way to be quick to judge. Also Ren loves my reactions and his opinion is the only one who truly matters so 👍🏻❤️

I loved this reaction. As long time Ren fans (you and us) we have ridden the roller coaster of Ren's lyrics, his back story, feeling deep emotions on almost every song. Reacting to Rens technical production skills, the music behind the lyrics, and getting so much joy from it, is actually great to watch....Ren's music skills are a product of being imprisoned in his room for so long, with nothing to do but write beats, so for us to ignore the lyrics at times, and just enjoy the music arrangement is welcome. This is Ren's personal fave. :) That all said, the lyrics behind this song, are Ren at his lowest point... .and he definitely still carries the pain of it in his mind, shown by his reaction when talking about it in the Zack Sang interview. I think Ren has a lot of feelings that live just beneath the surface...it makes him special and real.
