Sooner or later you have to clean out your closet and sort your clothes. If you have worn an item at least once every 12 months, then you should leave it, there is a chance that you will wear it again. Products that have been on the shelves for more than a year, otherwise for several years, feel free to throw them away, of course, if you are not a needlewoman.
Any old thing can be made new. Sweaters, jackets, scarves and other knitted items will come in handy. Take everything you have at home, the more flowers the better. The selected sweaters will make a chic bedspread or blanket.
The method that I will show is almost the same as when sewing patchwork. Squares or rectangles are sewn together. But there are differences. Previously, the prepared parts were sewn together and then attached to the lining; such work requires attention, since the pieces stretch and warp.
This does not happen with the new method.
How to sew?
I cut the sweaters into 20x20 cm squares. This size can be smaller or larger.
From lining fabric (I took a flannel) I cut out exactly these squares.
I connected the squares with the wrong sides facing inward.
On the side of the bike I drew two intersecting diagonals. The details were pinned together. I stitched along the marked lines. The line was laid from the side of the bike, as a result the knitwear did not stretch, and if it went beyond its limits, it was easy to trim it.
Each square was overlocked on all sides.
I arranged the blanks as I liked. I combined the squares and stitched them in a zigzag pattern into stripes. Then I connected these strips in the same way, creating a continuous canvas that can be of any size.
Now you need some braid.
I stitched it to each seam. First in one direction, then in the other. The result is crossed lines.
The edge of the bedspread was trimmed with the same braid.
I ended up with a narrow sofa cover that prevents the furniture from getting dirty.
The bedspread is sewn quickly, as there are no difficulties in the process.
