Shed Hunting 2023 - Part 8 Final Sheds of the Year

This is my final shed hunting video of the year. I’ll be coming out with a shed season conclusion and recap video next. Definitely one of my best years but didn’t quite top last year, but it was still a heck of a year.

True but when it greens up it definitely makes it harder, especially in wet areas where the grass is already over 1ft tall. My focus switches to food plots and other habitat projects this time of year.

Never thought my property was good for sheds, thought they wintered somewhere else. Partially right, no sheds, but when i walked through an old swamp i found 2 really nice deadheads. I guess i just wasnt looking hard and long enough in the right spot

Yeah it can be tough sometimes, it’s just a matter of time and miles when your in the right spot.

You have to be in an areas bucks winter and walk a lot. Other people are probably beating you to them.

Deer will chew on the antlers as well I've even watched them chew on tines while there on there head still coyotes don't usually leave little marks on antlers they tend to do some damage to them

I don’t think deer chew on antlers. It’s definitely coyotes. Have you ever seen a shed someone use’s as a dog toy. The teethmarks and chewing is exactly the same as the ones I’ve shown in the video. I’ve found sheds 2-3yrs old laying right in the open in obvious areas right on top of the grass. Certain areas I walk through on private land every yr while shed hunting. So something obviously moved it there. On a particular hill there’s other types of garbage and rubber balls etc. all chewed up from coyotes with the same tooth marks. Not to mention all the coyote dens on that hill as well. Clearly coyotes are the only explanation for sheds with teethmarks like that.

i bet that big chewed one was a break off and not a shed. probably busted fighting in the fall and has been sitting there getting chewed for longer all winter.

Definitely more to find out there, but I ran out of time. Too green now. I lost 2 whole weekends due to fresh snow in mid to late March so that sucked, along with an entire week after the one the March snowstorms that it didn’t pay to go out much until most of it melted. I have multiple good spots I didn’t even cover this year. Just ran out of time.
