Back in the day my grandfather had a name for himself as a Bug builder and tuner in Melbourne Australia. Loved seeing Suzie drive a propper machine.. a visceral experience.... noise, vibration, smell, wind, effort....fun!! Thank you all.

I love that you've shown warts and all. Everyone who's worked on older cars knows the feeling of having their heart broken by something failing to start, compounded by the presence of a camera. Fantastic videos.

" You did very well............. for a woman!" Oh Ivan you are living dangerously me old mate lol. Love the Bugatti it's looking really good. Suzie was thrilled to do her first drive and she did do very well, for any person not used to double de clutching. It takes a lot of practice to get it right on what I assume is a straight cut gearbox.

Suzie seems so happy -- such a fabulous lady. I would give anything to meet both her and Ivan someday. I love looking at her reflection in the finish of the body as she operates the camera. John is a master mechanic -- rather like my grandfather who worked as a repair track foreman for the long-defunct Illinois Central railroad. This is such a lovely car!

From a retired old mechanic over in the colonies ( nova scotia ) you guys are a hoot. Suzie’s whitt is terrific. “Have you ever done this before ? John’s fabrication skills are second to none. And of course all centred around building a car for Suzie. Too bad you couldn’t find a suitable job for Ivan ! Easy to see who was holding the ol’ camera for the road test though. I had to go and take a gravol, for motion sickness! Thoroughly entertaining, and a definite Oscar is in your team’s future. A million thanks.

When I think of the time this thing was made, it boggles the mind at the engineering. People don't realize how few mechanical things there were in those days.

Maybe it's even more mind boggling that this car could be created so cohesively by some gents of advancing years in a shed using mainly 100 year old secondhand parts ?

In the US, we use "Crush and Run", fine and medium gravel, to level our drive so drainage still happens.Allot of it is recycled concrete mixed with gravel so it's porous.
