Hello 👋🏻. I have a recently built a lean to shed and have decided not to install baffles since I live in a dry hot climate ( Texas). I did install R-13 insulation in walls and ceiling. I will be monitoring the shed to make sure I don't have moisture problems. Thanks for the video was very helpful.

Garage is what I have but the humidity is a bit high all the time, no ridge vent or any other roof venting. I too think venting will help me. Thanks for the video and your insight. Cheers!

I have the same issue. More on the air coming in. I was going to drill a hole big enough for air flow. Hiring someone to cut in a ridge vent. Then, as you mentioned, screen in the holes I drilled. Like yours, I have no room for a traditional soffit, but at least I will have the air flow. Let me know how yours is working out. Good video.

them baffals are standard building code here in NW ONT, CANADA AS WELL AS COVERING all walls and ceiling with a 6ml plastic and sealing all seams tight and sealed to the floor, to stop drafts and warmer getting to the insulation, it a must or your roof ice up, cold drafts and water build up, large vents are a must on both ends

We were going to do something with freight containers but the cost of building materials didn't make sense in the end we got a 130 year old farm on 10 acres for around the same price of just the land it has a pump barn greenhouse shop and so much more just needs a little tlc but move in ready

I'm finishing a shed for storage, not living space, very similar construction as your shed here. The space will not be conditioned and only used for storage, but I have added insulation and wall coverings. No vents yet... do you think I'll have condensation issues?

@@ncironhorse8367 Nope. I do run a dehumidifier in the summer months to prevent mold/mildew growth but other than that, all good so far.

Do all sheds have a ridge vent? Or an easy way to make one like in the video? Going down the same route now but doing my research before i get the shed

Most that have metal roofs do have it. We have one that my daughter is finishing out that has a shingled roof and it didn't have a ridge vent. We cut the ridge out and added one, it wasn't too hard. I recorded us making it but never got a video made or posted. I will check and see if I still have it and if I do, I will make a video.

Does your ridge vent (on inside) hsve square opening about every 5ft? I don't mean its open to the outside but it did snow inside and it was exactly under each opening.

At the peak there is a space down the entire shed. It's covered over with tar paper. Then on top of the shed is a cap covering it. We cut the tar paper out of the space,which did leave it open to the outside. I was a little worried it might snow or rain it but so far so good. One time we did get some really light powdery snow and a little blew in on our insulation.It was very little and evaporated away pretty quickly. They do make screens to put under the cap that prevents rain and snow from coming in, which we plan to use if we have any problems. So far it's working great.

@@HumbleLittleHomestead did you use any baffles under your insulation? I found some that are just wide enough to cover the peak and still let air circulate. But I'm considering just screens too.

Sorry you're having to deal with moister. cavity will always have moister. Insulation is the problem. More money is spent on remodification then the root causes.
